Times best for me are when I'm the only one in the house, such as weekday mornings/afternoons (as I can talk as loud as I want to without interrupting other people around me. :D )
I'm thinking that probably just one more coaching session on Skype with Kaboom and/or Kino is all that's needed, maybe even we can work off each other as Bulma and Yamcha if we happen to be simultaneously, and you'll be all good to go for recording your genuine takes and sending them to Kaboom (whom then can forward to the sound editors). Once I'm able to as well, I'll be making at least two or three takes of all my dialogue, I believe Azure's using this method as well. I can't wait till I have my much better new mic, finally gonna record for Yamcha and Oozaru Gohan parts at last!

Since every one of the cast and editing crew seems unable to get on AIM, YIM, or MSN at the same time; an IRC chat room has now been established. This is the place to get mIRC, please install on your computer. It's fairly easy to figure out, a small chatting program (not even 2 MBs), and best of all there's much greater chance of the most of us being in the specified room to discuss the chat in much better detail and length than off-and-on in this gigantic thread.

I'm sure Kaboom, Kino, and Steven won't mind me posting the channel name. However, I'll wait to hear from them on it, they may wanna keep the privacy of it limited to just emails and PMs. Keep in mind, this is for cast members, those working on the project outside voicing (Steven with music, Acid with that video guide that we may or may not use in all our recording takes), and those up for replacing the role of Kaio (Kino's friend Cole, Sato/SaiyamanMS). If anyone who isn't involved would like to see how this all goes and voice opinions, PM Kaboom or Kino for the channel.

EDIT: Hell, the chat topic says everyone's welcome, I may as well just list the channel. :p

#R29ProductionsProject

I felt so bad I had to clock out early on Saturday from Skype. My 14 and 11 year old cousins had a birthday party. >_>

Most of my skype time was me learning how to use the program and then having mic issues but fixing them later on during the session and....well it was kind of like a 'warm-up' sort of thing.
And I couldn't even practice my lines saturday because I had relatives over.

If you guys have any suggested times you want to try skype again, let me know.

For this week I'd be better on Monday or Wednesday.
I work on Tuesday (my schedule changes every week so I usually don't work the same weekday twice in a row).
Thursday and Friday I have exams (Exam week, yay. :? ) that begin at 8 in the morning.
I'm NOT a morning person so I'm going to be home from those around noon and completely out of it. I can't record when I'm insanely tired.
I'll have one more exam the following Monday (the 17th) and then my semester's over.
On hiatus.

Okay... I've already given this to Kino via the IRC, and I'm going to re-record some of it later using her critique. But, here's my try-out for Rakasei. Please pardon the noise, I have a bad mike ATM and was holding it WAY too close.

Take One!

Take Two, just for fun

Critique please. This is my first voice recording.
[quote="Brakus"]For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". Very nice. There's a lot of wind interference, though, from your breath. Try to minimize that a bit by backing up from the mic a bit, and talking a little louder. Also, using a hard "B" sound instead of "P" at times can help.

You guys are the only ones from whom I've not gotten samples in any form yet. If you want to keep your part, please get to it. I'll be sending each of you e-mail reminders, as well.

Also, to everyone, I'm going to start posting updates on our section on the Randomness Board, as well as here. I'll have links to it in my signature shortly.

Also, don't forget to stop in on the R29 chat room we've started... Myself, Kino, or Steven; one of us is always in there to answer questions and stuff. It's #R29ProductionsProject on irc.Rizon.net.

EDIT: Fixed. :P

Reiterating this, as it's been several days now. I know probably just about everyone is busy with school and such, but there hasn't been so much as a peep from several people I've asked for things from. I'll get those e-mail reminders sent out later tonight as well.

Also, Steven, any word on that banner we chatted about?

My last exam is next monday, so if you want to set up any additional Skype chats, I'm good after that. :3

I'd like to give Skype another try now that I've been properly taught how to use the program. XD

Kino and I have been on there today for a couple hours, been quite interesting to say the least. Especially when figuring out how we'll be voicing Gohan during the Oozaru transformation. Rehearsing for Yamcha has also been fun, I really wish ya' could've been there Chuquita. Yamcha needed his girlfriend. ^^;

Now that I've had some good coaching and tips, I'm set to begin recording genuine takes for all my dialogue, battle cries, etc. Getting my new decent-quality standard mic Saturday morning, starting recording this weekend. Peace!

Ohh! I didn't know you guys were on earlier! I could've joined in. My exam was really early this morning so I had time afterwards. >_<
Then again I ended up sleeping for two hours after lunch because they had the exam scheduled at 8am. (I was on the road at 7:30 in the morning! XD )

Should I pm Kino and Kaboom and ask when they'd be open to skype chat? Or can I ask in this thread?

For me, same, though I'll have to keep a lookout for certain interruptions after five.

... I don't really feel like saying much else for now, for once. :O But I'll be following Kaboom's example and putting up a calendar of sorts for when I'm on during the week soon, so watch for that... o.o
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

The last of my exams is on that monday from 11am to 1:50pm, but I doubt I'll be there that long. (I hope I won't be there that long). As its more of a "the teacher examines the work you've done this semester" sort of thing, not an official exam like I have tomorrow morning.

I'll contact you guys monday as soon as I get home from school. :3

Here's a beta-practice sample of the Oozaru transformation to show what Kino, myself, and I'm pretty sure Kaboom have in mind. No music or sound effects, sorry. But it gives a pretty good idea of the manner in which we're planning to have the Oozaru transformation voiced and edited. Thoughts on it are welcome, though remember, it's simply a practice to show how we're planning this scene voice-wise.

Sorry I wasn't able to be on yesterday as long as I wanted.
I did help people find a couple pairs of pants on their xmas shopping endeavors though.

Can we set up a skype meeting time?

I'm free the next few days save for tomorrow and Thursday nights. Friday, maybe, but I don't know my weekend work schedule yet.

I see one of the terror twins is still open. I got tons of money for Christmas, so if I can convince my mom to drive me to Best Buy so I could pick up a new mike I'll send in an audition for one of them.

Don't you have the part of one of them already? Maybe I'm off, but...

My mike broke, so I couldn't get in an audio sample and had to give it up. Now that I can get a new mike I can send in a new sample.
