Well, technically. It's like - instead of saying Special Beam Cannon, you say SpecialBeamCannon. It is technically correct, but not as accurate to the original to separate the syllables.

"Ma" means "demon", not "evil". The rest is OK though translation-wise. With regards to whether the syllables should be split up, 魔封波/mafuuba is a single word, made up of the kanji for "demon", "seal", and "wave"; if these were three seperate words, they would be something like akuma wo fuujikomu nami. The difference between the two is kind of like writing something in English as many words versus using latin root words to form a single English word with the same meaning, like writing 'bicycle' versus writing 'two wheels', if that helps.

Professor, is the kanji used for 'ha' the same used as 'ba' here in the Mafûba? I noticed as 'ha' from 'KameHame-Ha' is also 'wave' and all...

Yeah, it's the same. And so is the 'pa' in Dodon-pa. The change from 'ha' to 'ba/pa' is called 'rendaku', and it's the same reason 'kame' become 'game' in Umgame's name, 'kami' becomes 'gami' in 'megami' (goddess), etc.
