He's not really a voracious eater in the novel. In fact he completely blows off a feast to go fawn over Chi Chi.

Funny how Goku cares more about Chichi in the movie when she's nothing more than a high school crush than he ever does in the actual series, where by the end she's been his wife for close to 30 years.

Other sources have hinted that he's got quite the appetite in the film itself, though. Besides, there's gotta be a reason he was getting a 'feast' for his birthday in the first place.

Because in the almighty manga, Yamcha was afraid of women at first.

But then again, he certainly didn't stay that way any later than Pilaf. For most of the rest of the story he kept pissing Bulma off by being too much of a ladies' man.

You mean like those scenes where girls were chasing him and he would run away? Or where he would get accidentally tossed into sittuations where it looked like he was after/whatever this girl, and Bulma would throw a shitfit on him when he hadn't bloody done anything?

I remember one scene training for the Jinzonigen where he's grinning at pretty girls on the television (which's anime only I believe). Name me one manga example of Yamcha ever being vaugely unfaithful that happens in this reality.

You sticking up for Yamcha like that is just outright ridiculous. You sound like his lawyer. In the manga, Yamcha is never seen cheating on Bulma, as far as I can tell. But he does so in the anime and video games. Just face the facts. After Pilaf, Yamcha becomes a womanizer....and a baseball player soon after.

Actually, he's not. He's the straight man in a comedy of errors. The only time he's shown as doing anything except avoiding women is in the dub.

Seriously? He is in fact a womanizer. But that isn't all he is. Just because I call him that, it doesn't mean it's his only title. He's a lot of things, and a womanizer is one of them. I'd say that the movie is portraying Yamcha quite well.
