Maybe I'm missing something...but is there a way to get back to the forums once you've entered the Control Panel? I used to just be able to click on the Daizenshuu EX banner at the upper left-hand corner of the screen, but since it's not there anymore, I have to alter the URL in order to get back.

Clicking the current banner still does that.

I just did that at my Hellsing forum, and I've made completely custom graphics for everything.
Question. Do you guys want a custom logo and/or custom graphics for the layout? Because I can make them no problem. (I think it'd be fun) Uploading them is a breeze too, I can tell you how to do that if you don't already know, it's simple.

Lost customizes forums constantly, if Mike wanted them, they likely would have been done prior to now, but that's up to him.

I'm mostly talking about the logo at the top. There's a way to replace that "phpbb: Creating Communities" with some kind of a Daizex one, but there's also cool stuff like Dragonballs as thread markers, maybe scouters somewhere. LOTS of cool stuff could be done.

I mostly just like to Photoshop stuff, so I though I'd ask XP

We're aware how to replace the logo, doing it was delayed to fix/setup actual things in the forum (such as adding back in the messenger buttons.)

And like I said, Lost designs custom forum graphics, if Mike wants them, they'll show up.

Ah, it's nice to see Daizex on PHPBB3, I've been running my own forum on it for a while (granted I STARTED with PHPBB3's beta so I didn't have the 2 to 3 conversion mess) so it's nice to see my favorite messageboard (that isn't my own) be fully featured. Congratulations, Daizex!

- I do want a custom style at some point. I've said for years that I would make one, and simply never got around to it. If people want to have a little community contest to make the best one, that would be great! It should go without saying that I would want it based around the primary colors used in the design of the actual website (lots of #006699, #6699cc, #99ccff, #ffffcc, etc.).

I like 'forum' more, but you could just use both.

Speaking of plug-ins, and I hope I am understanding what you mean by 'plug-in', might a 'multi-quote' option like on vBulletin be possible? It makes replying to multiple posts with one much easier than having to open each reply in multiple windows, copy the quoted post, and paste it into one reply by simply replacing it with a click on the multi-quote button and then eventually hitting the reply button or a regular 'quote' button to begin your series of replies.

There's that, or you could take the clever approach by shifting your gaze downward to the scrolling "topic review" box, below the posting area, wherein you can scroll through the posts within a thread and click "quote" on each of them. Or, the more favorable alternative, is simply addressing the user directly and save the forum unnecessary quotations, especially when there will be a fair few of them.

I mean, unless you're going to be replying to a very specific point in someones arguments, there's very little reason to actually quote what they've said in the first place. Since it isn't often difficult to determine the main thrust of ones point, after all, with or without.

Less mess is always a good thing.


Also, even though I am likely disqualified due to not quite being a user, I'd like to cast my vote for the 'boards' subdomain. Its far more pleasant looking to me than 'forum'.
