That is how I have always viewed it. In my opinion Gohan was the one that actually defeated Vegeta, not Goku.Bussani wrote:Well, technically it was Gohan who finally crushed Vegeta and ended the fight.

It was a group effort. None of them could have won on their own. Gohan just put things over the top.Kid Buu wrote:That is how I have always viewed it. But it was clear what that battle was pointing to, which was Gohan, coming into more of his power. And throughout Namek. And then in the Cell Games.
I think it was pretty clear the story was building up to Gohan becoming the new hero. Unfortunately, it didn't take.

Interestingly enough, here is what page 29 of the booklet that comes with the first Dragon Box says:
It was thought that even Goku would not be able defeat Vegeta. It was Goku's son Gohan who defeated Vegeta! There must have been many people who felt a new generation's arrival with this heoric deed.

Vegeta's screw ups power most of the plot of DBZ.

In Vegeta's defence, the moon ball wasn't such a screw up when he was crushing every bone in Goku's body.penguintruth wrote:Vegeta's screw ups power most of the plot of DBZ.

Gohan only transformed into SSJ2 because of Cell's taunting. Cell defeated Cell.Rocketman wrote:Gohan only transformed because of the Moon Ball. Goku only transformed into SSJ because of Freeza killing Kuririn. Freeza defeated Freeza.
Vegeta only thought up using a spirit bomb against Buu because of that Buu took out too much of Goku's SSJ3 energy and was too tough. Buu defeated Buu.

Me too. I can never remember if it's supposed to be shin as in "new" and refer to Super Boo, or shin as in "true" and refer to Kid Boo. And somehow I have a feeling neither do the people using the term.Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:I really hate that fan term.

'Shin' Buu is almost as bad as 'Chou' Gohan.

Re: Gohan intended to take the leading role?
That, and I think it just sounds stupid. I've always thought Super Boo sounded pretty good, since the Japanese call everything super-something anyway. And the Japanese name for him ("Evil Majin Boo" in the Daizenshuu, if I'm not mistaken) is used by English-speaking fans to refer to the skinny Boo anyway ("Pure-evil Majin Boo," right?), so it gets confusing.Herms wrote:Me too. I've never, ever seen a flat-out "Shin Buu" used as a reference to or name for any particular form or transformation of the character. Who uses this? Where? Is it specific to a single language's fanbase?
