Re: Female Saiyans
You can't know that. Maybe Toriyama draws a female SSJ in ten years just for fun, and it so happens that he draws something like that, even though it's not his style. Again, you don't know that. You don't. Unless you claim you know Toriyama. Now do you?Hujio wrote: And I myself said that Toriyama wouldn't draw it that way. What's wrong with that?
I expect that you will answer in the same way that you did before, copying my comment to say "hah! That'll show you! Right back atcha!". Seriously, can one be any more immature to do such a thing? Most people stopped that when they were kids.

Re: Female Saiyans
We can pretty well assume that Toriyama wouldn't draw a female Super Saiyan like that because, while keeping the evolution of his style over the decades in mind, Toriyama seems pretty consistent in his style. To suddenly expect him to go off and do some completely different style after so long is just grasping at straws to make an argument of Hujio's comment; a comment that seemed rather rhetorical in the first place.Godo wrote:You can't know that. Small text statements are supposed to be short.

This is a poor argument. If someone can turn your own argument back on you in a valid way, then you'd be a hypocrite to ignore it.Godo wrote:I expect that you will answer in the same way that you did before, copying my comment to say "hah! I am not trying to make an argument. I am just saying that just as Toriyama's style transformed during the Dragonball years, it can too transform in the future.Kendamu wrote:

Even though Sand Land and Neko Majin contain similar designs, the art itself isn't identical as his previous work if you compare.
And what I mean isn't that Toriyama would draw that kind of armor or specific design, but that he is an artist, and can develop and change his style.
That drawing that is the subject, isn't that vastly different from Toriyama's work. It is a possible style change that may or may not occur in the future.
Since we have not seen a female SSJ drawn by Toriyama yet, we cannot hold anything as an absolute.
I used it rather for it not to be a part of my main statement, so that it wouldn't distract the main point.Kendamu wrote: Small text statements are supposed to be short.
I am not speaking about the argument itself, but the fact that he used the same sentence even, and to me that's a clear sign of being a douche, included the roll eyes, which were given to a pretty innocent statement of Piccolo Damaio, which was unnecessary. It's clear that his intent was nothing out of kindness, but rather a way to ridicule him.Bussani wrote:This is a poor argument. By all means, believe what you want, and hold the guy's back if you want to, but I don't like to see people being rude.

Re: Female Saiyans
Well, this has gotten a little out of control. I didn't mean to be mean, or rude, and if I had, it would have been painfully obvious. I was merely stating my opinion that I didn't think Toriyama would ever draw anything like that. I was questioned about opposing someone's opinion, so I reiterated that I was stating my opinion in response. Maybe I should have made it a little more clear that it was an opinion, so that's my fault. Anyway...
Yes, Toriyama has drawn nudity and whatnot, but only for comedic effect. He never goes out of his way to draw women raunchy just to make them look "hot". That image was clearly drawn to be raunchy, but someone, please let me know if I'm wrong about this. I mean, I don't think there's any precedent for us to think Toriyama would draw like that.
So I may have been a douche, but at least I'm trying to be a well-informed douche, right?
And for the record, I only inserted the rolling-eyes to indicate I was being sarcastic.
I really don't care too much about all this, but I hope I didn't hurt anyone's feelings.

Buff chicks don't do it for me, sorry. At least, not to that degree...
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Well, he did do a R rated illustration in a book called "Bitch's Life" which I can't post because it contains nudity.Hujio wrote: Yes, Toriyama has drawn nudity and whatnot, but only for comedic effect. And then Toriyama isn't known for his anatomical correctness either. If Upa existed for real his neck might have snapped from his huge head's weight, so would Babidi's.
And regarding the human fighters and Saiya-jins: Their body fat is very low, and it's a wonder they are not dead yet.

Haha! I'm trying to imagine a full-blooded Saiyan, even a female one, giving a crap about wearing stuff like that as opposed to, I dunno, killing people, drinking, and telling Bardock to go see his son.Godo wrote:Ok, sorry for making such a big deal about it.Hujio wrote:text![]()

Re: Female Saiyans
Females in the Dragon World (Humans and Saiyans) are differentiated to us in the real world. Surely, one of my friends highly modeled after the characters.

Yup, it sure does look like Toriyama doesn't go out his way to draw raunchy women. Especially half naked ones.

There's also kid Chi-Chi in her Red Sonja get-up. But then there’s adult Chi-Chi, Videl, Violet, Selypa, and Zangya, who aren’t scantily clad. And the designs for female characters in DBO don’t seem to be all that provocative.

The DB women did tend to get less provocative as time went by... Then Bra came along.

It's like I never even wrote the sentence right before that one, you know, clarifying what I meant... "Yes, Toriyama has drawn nudity and whatnot, but only for comedic effect.
