I'm assuming it's a reference to the fact that "androids" denotes a complete absence of biological components, whereas "artificial humans" suggests--consistent with the original--that at least 17 and 18 are humans with artificial components.

Without getting too much into that whole debate, the term jinzou-ningen is usually translated as "android", and was translated that way on Japanese DB merchandise long before the series was dubbed into English. So it's not something that the dub is responsible for.

I seem to remember that the dub did cause a related problem, though. They ignored/omitted all the dialogue that explained #17 and #18 were cyborgs, implying they're fully robotic, and thus causing kind of a plothole with the birth of Marron.

Is that really a dub thing? Because in the Japanese anime kid Boo's said to be the strongest of all Boos at least 3 times (by Kaioshin, Goku, and the narrator). Does the dub do anything to even further hype him up?

In the manga he's just said to be the "most troublesome". In the anime though he's said to be strongest. I see people blame the dub for suggesting he's the strongest, but it's present in the Japanese version too.

Right before Goku transitions from SSJ2 to SSJ3 he says that Kid Buu is twice as strong as before (dub), in the original JPN version he also says Kid Buu is the strongest.

I'm guessing, but he's probably referring to this bit of filler where a recently deceased Yamcha kicks Olibu's ass. Olibu was shown to do quite well against Paikuhan, whose first act in the series was to kick Perfect Cell's ass.

If so, that's an odd explanation. The guides say that Goku did ki training with Grandpa Gohan before the story even began, and he knew enough to sense Piccolo Daimao's and call it youki. Besides that, if Mutaito could beat Goku, what was stopping him from beating Piccolo?

Another explanation could be that the filler time travel room is more like an illusion than real, physical time travel, and thus Mutaito could be as strong as the illusion wanted.

Well, in Japanese they're called Jinzo'ningen, which commonly does translate to "android", so...not sure that's really a dub/filler thing.

On topic, there are some obvious ones that everyone knows:

• Goku's father is a brilliant scientist. (dub)
• Kaio knows Instantaneous Movement. (filler)
• Vegeta is only evil because of Freeza. (dub)
• Instantaneous Movement works by transforming you into light so you can travel to your destination at the speed of light. (dub)
• Cell can regenerate so long as any random one of his cells survives. (dub)

Why does it sounds like English dub knows anything about japanese and they just come up with stuff?

In a sense, Mutaito did defeat Piccolo by trapping him in that electronic jar (it was like Ghostbusters without the proton packs)
