There were three groups in total. I just showed you the best group compared to the worst group. There's another group, that's slightly close to being as good as the best but not quite. They're fairly decent. Sometimes an episode would be drawn by one group for a while, and then they'd take a break and pass the episode on to another group to do other scenes. Certain episodes in the Namek season had a VERY nasty habit of switching between all three animation groups, mostly using the worst. It was simply not to overwork the groups, seeing how big the series is.

The group on the left of each screenshot are the best animators of the series. From those screenshots, they're from Trunks - Mysterious Youth on the final episode of the disc. They usually aren't used very often and animate pretty much just the important events, such as Trunks arriving and showing up Freeza. They're usually followed up by the awful group.

The part where Bulma phones Kuririn and Trunks, telling them about a strange object found in the forest that was exactly like Trunks' time machine (and which was), was awesome - especially the cliffhanger where Trunks questions the reasons for disparity in the timelines after looking at the faxed picture. And then onto the part which escalates this mystery by comparing the two time machines with the unraveling of the word 'hope!!' on both, and then finally discovering the time machine had originated from the future of Mirai Trunks' timeline when checking the departure dates, was exciting.
Ah yes. I completely forgot about that part. From there on, that was truly one of the greatest twists in the plot for the manga and the show. That and when everyone felt Freeza's
Ki and an even stronger one approaching Earth when they had thought Goku finished him.
Mr. Announcer wrote:That's hardly their shittiest group though, they have one that's much worse. Anyway, I haven't watched that part in a while but I think the episode may have ended that way and in the next episode there was a bit of a recap.
No, that IS their shittiest group. They're the ones who draw everyone's hair bigger than their heads and make the characters completely off model, especially with the pointy joints And pretty much the entire episode was drawn by them. The ones on the left came from one episode, while the ones on the right came from the next episode. I left out the good group since there wasn't much to really compare, nor did I want to find scenes to compare.
