How Strong are the Humans at the end of DBZ?
Re: How Strong are the Humans at the end of DBZ?
I can see Tien & Krillin being anywhere between Goku's Kaio-Ken X2 (when he demonstrated it to Ginyu) to Vegeta when he had that small struggle with First Form Freeza. Yamcha would be a good chunk below them but still somewhere around that same ballpark. Of the three I'd say Tien would be the strongest since Krillin's been slacking off and Yamcha was always a lot behind them anyway.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

So, you think she got weaker from how she was from the 23rd Budokai despite it? And have you saw Goten in action? He and Goten are practically equals, in fact he coulda won if Trunks didn't cheat. All that the resulted from Chi-Chi's training with addition of flight.Super SaiyaJon wrote:She taught Goten. She probably "demonstrated" form and "technique." Perhaps she got Goten to do some physically straining tasks to raise his strength. She didn't have to spar with him.DBZAOTA482 wrote: Yes, she taught Goten how to fight and made him a great fighter. She can't possibly do that without having the kid fight her on a level.
While I'm here, I might as well show my power levels:
Bulma: 2
Chi-Chi: 120
Mr. Satan: 7
Videl: 9
Farmer: 5
Hey, don't diss the farmer. Farming involves a lot of physical labor. Dude probably just has a big appetite.Bullza wrote:I'm sure the "worlds strongest" guy is more than 10% stronger than some pudgy farmer.Mr. Satan: 5.5 (estimate)

Haven't we already gotten these in GT? Goku dies, the DBs go away, and the Namekian DBs most likely won't be used again because of the Evil Dragons.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

He can obviously read power levels. This was a weakened Vegeta that he could already beat, remember. He just thought Vegeta might have a trump card (he didn't, he was bluffing), so he wanted more insurance by absorbing maybe 10-15 million extra BP from Gohan, suppresesd Piccolo, Krillin, and Tenshinhan. Because why not? Also note his attitude towards Yamcha when they first meet, where he notes that he can drain a significant amount of energy from him. Yamcha would at least have to be over a million for his power to have any noticeable effect.Saiga wrote:The problem I have with taking Android arc statements to put them in the low millions is that still wouldn't work out. If Gero absorbed 5-10 million from the humans he should still get wrecked by Vegeta.
So I have to just dismiss that as Gero being really crappy at measuring battle power.
I put the four strongest humans (bar 18, 17, and Uub) in between 1 and 4 million by the end of the series, with Krillin being the strongest, Ten the second strongest, Yamcha a distant third, and Chaozu the weakest.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.
Re: How Strong are the Humans at the end of DBZ?
Vegeta already had a senzu at this point, then Gero saw him and commented on how powerful Vegeta was (chapter 345, page 13 panel 1 - not in the strength checker but it's both in Viz and scanlations). Then he noticed that he could steal from Gohan and Piccolo and supposedly beat Vegeta. So that reasoning doesn't work at all, Gero thought that if he added base Gohan and suppressed Piccolo, he'd surpass full power Super Saiyan Vegeta. Dude's nuts.RandomGuy96 wrote:He can obviously read power levels. This was a weakened Vegeta that he could already beat, remember. I don't even think over 1,000,000 fits for Gero's comment. Once it'd be high enough to actually make sense, it'd be above the base Saiyans which we know the humans are below.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!
