"Baby" or "Bebi"?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Nope, nothing.

But there's no doubt in my mind that it's indeed a pun on "baby", really. Heck, it's the same kana spelling and it's spelled "Baby" on official merchandise.
And doesn't the character appear in "embryo-like form", at some point? I haven't watched "Dragon Ball GT", but I seem to rembmer something like that.

His head is way too big for his body, I guess he's supposed to look like a baby in the womb though.

I never liked the look of him though, then again I didn't like the character designs in GT anyways!

The blue water dub refered him as Baby so I guess that's his name.

You can't always trust the dub. Bebi is more accurate, since that is how it is literally spelled in Katakana.

"More accurate" is a bit misleading. It's simply a literal transliteration.

Yeah, your right. I guess "Baby" may be correct, but my preference is Bebi. It just looks cooler.

Just for further example. Let's look at some more literal translations.

Pikkoro, Torankusu, Seru, Furiza, Burori, etc.
