I guess I'm just afraid of them suddenly not being available. I definately want them for my collection, and for some of those boxes I'm years late. Do you mean as a whole that there is no rush or just the movie box?SatoSky wrote:There seems to be no rush, they're readily available. I can understand you wanting it in time for Christmas and such.

I just heard about Funimations new release this weekend and thats when I first heard the Dragon Boxes being mentioned. I really must not have been paying attention to what was going on in Japan with this stuff for a long while.
If I were to somehow manage my way through a Japanese site, do you think it would be a good idea to try going for the order? I just wonder if it would be too risky not knowing what I actually selected for sure.

I'm not fluent, and I ordered all 5 DragonBoxes over the course of 3 years without a mishap. The nice thing is, Amazon.co.jp will actually give you order info in English (plus, the listing is "DRAGON BALL 劇場版 DVDBOX DRAGON BOX THE MOVIES" which makes it easy to understand what you're ordering), so it's hard to mess up.SSJ2 Son Gohan wrote:If I were to somehow manage my way through a Japanese site, do you think it would be a good idea to try going for the order? I'd say go for it and enjoy. Amazon's price appears to be ~$273 before shipping, so that'd be about ~$303.00 after express shipping. If you need any help, give a shout.

Re: $
I don't know a lick of Japanese and I was able to get my Dragon Box through Amazon Japan as well. If you have the money, then yes go for it. It's a great set, especially with the nice cleaned up footage and some extras. Plus you get scouters. Well they're walkie-talkies basically, but yea whatever. I haven't even assembled mine.MajinVejitaXV wrote:I'm not fluent, and I ordered all 5 DragonBoxes over the course of 3 years without a mishap. You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.

Which is about $18 a movie. Not bad, really. Add to that the actual quality of the set, the booklet, the extras...it's a damn good deal, IMHO. I love mine.Mr.Piccolo wrote:...For the better...SatoSky wrote:I'm fairly sure the price won't change. What was that: about $300.00 for just the movies?!

Don't forget the AWESOME scouters that come with the movies.
I'm surprised that amazon has been selling the movies box for this long, I got mine back in the summer for about $278 with free shipping. $300 is still damn good for it being on sale for this long. Snatch it up quick before they start going for their full retail price of $500 or so...

I know but the thing that turns me away from the Dragonbox the most is the fact that it doesn't have subtitles (that and the fact I don't have one yet). But after hearing both sides of the argument (in the "infamous" New "Remastered Box Set" Thread) and looking at the long run, I guess the best way to go is to buy the Dragonboxes new or at least in good condition and with the scouters and such.
*sigh* Shopping online isn't one of my favorite past times...

Meh, I have my eyes on the alarm clock and capsule bonus (what deal is that btw).Castor Troy wrote:Don't forget the AWESOME scouters that come with the movies.

Yea, but you know the common rant that goes along with that argument... Japanese release... not meant to have subtitles anyways. Yadda, yadda, yadda. You can always take the subtitles from the FUNimation disc and re-time them to the Dragon Box and burn them to DVD-R's. That may be too much work for some people but others may think it's worth it.SeñorPiccolo wrote:I know but the thing that turns me away from the Dragonbox the most is the fact that it doesn't have subtitles
