Yes, I really don't know why these manufacturers thought they could make money off taking a figure and colouring them with a sharpie :P

To be honest I think they look terrible, but of course die hard fans will go out and buy them, regardless of bad they look. It's the way things work companies are not stupid.

I'm a die-hard fan! I own almost the whole Super Battle Collection for poop's sake! (missing two volumes, including that fucking 3-pack) But everytime I see these as the only Dragonball figure on the shelf, it's actually kind of disgusting. As a die-hard, I honestly don't see what the point of them are, they look terrible

You can only order from that site if you ship to a Canadian address. If you don't happen to live in Canada, you'd have to order from another site.
* www.toyrsus.co.jp for orders to be shipped to Japan
* www.toysrus.co.uk for orders to be shipped to the U.K.
* www.toysrus.com for orders to be shipped to the U.S.

They have done it with all sorts of figures. They are basically made for geeks who like unique collectors items or kid's who don't know any better. I know that this color swap idea was done with Spider-Man and Batman figures at least once. I forget which set but I remember seeing them when I was a kid. It's just a ridiculous way to make an extra dollar here or there.

Not in the US. The most recent thing other these are those Jakks Pacific figures. Which ,imo, aren't that great... they look out of proportion

I think it's safe to assume that there may be more figures comming out when the season sets get going.

you could always repaint them yourself. Perhaps that's the point of them.

For $12 for a tiny figure, I wouldn't get it repainted, I would look for the colored version

But I guess someone would do that, maybe have it profesionally repainted, and then they would get it painted wierd and sell it as a DBAF figure on ebay 8)

I'm sick of people using that word all the damn time.."ignorant". They just throw it around like its birdseed.

Besides, diminuitives are meant to be AFFECTIONATE not RACIST.
I'm not offended by "Ameri", or "Scot" or "Celt" or "Cauc", so what makes a difference if someone is a "Mexi", a "Viet", a "Pinoy", a, "Jap" or a "Aleut"?
The word "Jap" was used derogatively during World War II, in propaganda and in general by American citizens, and it still has that connotation. That's the difference.
No, it was used because when you talk on the radio its easier to say one syllable. The army always uses code names for Christ sakes.
And nothing America made in World War II was propaganda because it was TRUE. In order for something to be propaganda it has to be a LIE.

For example, all this anti Bush Propaganda thats been floating around is a load of tripe.

Whooooooooooooooa nelly.

Un: "Jap" may be considered offensive by some people. There is nothing wrong with the word in and of itself - just how it has been historically used. Not to hand down rulings (that's Mike's job), but be well warned that if you use a potentially offensive term you may be called upon to defend your use. The same goes for using "fuck", "nigger", and "Global Warming". Fair warning.

Duex: Let's not get into discussions about religion, politics, or Kool-aid flavours. Too much heat.

Trois: The topic at hand is about black and white versions of the "Ultimate Figure" series from Bandai.
