Err, it leans more towards a mix of the DBGT/One Piece style which IMHO makes Goku look slightly odd, but it's the coloring that really throws me off. Everything looks really flat, with no shading or depth. Then again, this is coming from the guy who thought Movie 13 was perhaps the apex of DragonBall in animated form.

Can't say I agree.
I very much prefer him DBZ style.
But......it *is* in DBZ style...... :?
Are you kidding me? That's is far from the Z style.

The only thing that's not "Z Style" is the extra fluidity of the character's movements and the flat colouring. The character designs are very much "Z style".

No it's not. It looks way different. The way the shading is done, for example; his face was obscured on the way down. That wouldn't have happened in the normal style.

That said, it's still awesome. I wish there was more.

Yea, it's not really the "Z style", but it's -in my opinion- way better than the GT style. Apart from the style, the character designs look like a nice mix between DB/DBZ and One Piece.

However, this thing is really awesome and I think I will make a German fandub of it. ^^

Yes that's what I was getting at. The actual way the characters are designed. Not colouring or shading.

I absolutely LOVED this! It was a really well thought thing!
I just loved how they got all those historical characters fighting it out, and also loved to see Goku once again animated!
Thanks Toei! (for a change)

So could this be an attempt to lead in the direction to make a new DragonBall series in that animation?
No.

Great stuff but, I'm not even going to comment on what all the YouTubers were saying about it. Kids need more culture these days I guess.

I'm liking the fluid movement a lot. I find it better than some of the stuff they did for DB in the past.

I just saw the video and the animation was different but I still liked it.
I clearly knew exactly what was going on but on the behalf of those who didn't, thanks Julian :P

That animation is so hot. Man, can you imagine how wild it would be for Dragonball to be animated with today's technology? It would be the greatest thing since.....well, it would be the greatest thing ever. I mean, for an anime with so many fight scenes, this kind of fluid motion is just what we need. I'll just keep dreaming.

I feel kind of stupid that the only contender I recognized was Benkei. Meh.

Can you believe there's a comment on the video's page that says this:
some idiot wrote:hahahahah imagine funanimation putting their hands on this, especially when that guy died!
narrator:oh no he gut sent to "another dimension"!
goku:oh man bummer you cant send ppl to "another dimension" in a budoki!
Someone tell him it's not 1996 anymore.

I thought it looked more like The early Dragonball. But the video is "the Shiznit"

Yeah, but Mickey Mouse has been around since 1928. Walt Disney himself was the voice actor for Mickey until the mid-1940s... and he's dead. So of course Mickey has a different voice actor now. Of course, on a similar note, Mickey's had the same voice actor since the early 1980s (same as Goku). So, I don't think that's such a great example.

But, I get your point, though. I think a better example would be like... the Ninja Turtles or something. They were super-popular in the West around a similar time that Dragonball and DBZ were popular in Japan and other parts of the east but I don't believe anyone from the original TMNT cartoon does voice work for the TMNT nowadays.

Hec, they couldn't even keep the same voice actors a lot of the time for commericals and the movies definately gave them different voices (unlike the vast majority of the Dragonball and DBZ cast).

Is it that absurd to believe? Every culture has reported manifestations of powers like this for over 3,000 years. Even what inspired DB, Journey to the West, had references to things like this from what I remember. Just because someone hasn't witnessed something with their own eyes, doesn't mean it isn't out there. For all I know, Dinosaurs never existed. I've never seen one. Doesn't that sound absurd? Sure, there are fossils. But the fossils also exist today for what is not believed in terms of human potential - the historical recordings and accounts - and not only that, but tangible things as well (The crystals left behind after the passing of Buddha for example, perhaps) and nowaday accounts of priests levitating, bi-location, etc. There has already been many studies done in legitimate universities and by many doctors and physicists about ki/chi. I think nowadays, technology has opened our eyes to endless possibilites, except the ones that lie within us. =)

Thanks,
- RAF
