To put it simply, people who say that "you need to get a life" and "you suck" to completely random people are the ones who need a life.

When we post 'weird jokes', it's only an act- an act to make newbies feel more at home, and to create a nice atmosphere (even when Frankenbell is ripping people to shreds). It's also a way to express ourselves creatively (I know I have a fun time doing photoshop stuff for them). Man, I've had so many laughs at that place...
Actually, if we lose the introduction forums, I'll leave. I'm not threatening or so, I'm just saying that the introduction forums gives the forum the little bit of laughter it needs.
Plus, I love to greet newcomers with humor. As told many times by many members, we give the forum a nice athmosphere and show that any person is welcome to join the discussions, and that there are no groups in this forum.

I would like to add that I'm glad that this forums haven't got any super mods or mods (as far of I know), but that Mike and his gang take care of everything. There is no power abuse in that way. All the members have the same status and value in this forum!
That's why Daizex forums is my favorite forum.

So you're saying that what I have to say matters just as much as what anyone else here has to say?

It's like the exact opposite of school, except with daily grammar lessons!

Ah good old hate mail... where would I be without looking at the ongoing stupidity you make? But yes, I do indeed miss the mailbag EX, and I would certainly like to see it return, this shit has definitely made my day. :)

I'm amused that somehow that GameFAQs thread managed to get into the whole can of worms Bebi vs Baby. Honestly, though what difference does it make? Bebi is the romanji spelling and Baby is the pun. It's like Suno / Snow from Dragon Ball. Doesn't really make much difference which one you use. Personal preference. Personally, I spell it with the pun but that's just me.

Also, I like how somebody said they were suprised this place didn't have power level lists or something like that. Yeah, because it's that kind of site. At least someone else was nice enough to point out that if EX did have a list like that, it'd be with citations from the manga, anime, daizenshuu, etc. Not just random guesstimates like most 90s DBZ sites.

Anyway, all else I can say is that reading this kind of thing amuses me to no end.

That and I fully approve and endorse the grammar rules that some people seem to loathe. I mean if you're going to type something that's going to be up for anybody to read for an indeterminate amount of time, why not make it look nice and readable. Are they in that much of a hurry that they have to get the post done as quickly and shoddy as possible. Or is it just laziness? Well, probably that and they just like seeing the little number under their name go up and up and up. Which I admit, has some gratification. Especially when you're posts actually mean something.

Not to defend the troll, but you guys do sound extremely nerdy.

You know, just saying.

I'm so jealous. I've never had someone create a 'why I hate desirecampbell' thread. :(

(Note that the "you" used below is a general, plural "you", and not inherently specific to any person.)

So... don't listen to us? I dunno. I'm curious as to what all the people in everyone else's life sounds like (friends, family, co-workers, colleagues, peers, etc.) that is so completely separate from us. What's "nerdy"? Is it the pure voice? Is it the content? A combination of the two? None of those things are going to change (we're all well past the point of puberty, and it's a DBZ site with a DBZ podcast), so if the raw sound is what's so awful, if you choose not to listen to anything, you've solved your problem of finding it obnoxious.

The power of podcasting as it currently stands is that any person with a love and drive can get their word out to anyone who will listen. You don't have to be a paid radio host to do a podcast, and I point out that oftentimes paid radio hosts are not experts in the field they are paid to discuss and engage in.

I also point out that how someone feels we are as human beings should be completely separate from and not affect their intake of the integrity of the information we provide (read: you may think I'm a loser, but that doesn't change the fact that the release date for such-and-such a game is still correct).

But whatever :).

Hate to burst the shiny, self-reflective bubble, but I was obviously just kidding around. There's nothing wrong with sounding nerdy (in both ways, BTW). Hell, it probably wouldn't be very good or believable as a DragonBall-related show if you guys all sounded like rock djs.

You want sounding nerdy? Rick, Kino and I used YIM's voice conference when we were voice casting a little while back. Now THAT was a shock to the system.

I saw my name so I comment. IDK what to say, these kinds of things happen all the time. If anything, feel flattered that they took the time to hate you in the first place, let alone spell VegettoEX right. And for the record, voices IRL>>>phone voices... :?

You can call me Rick because I'm not actually Piccolo.
I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

I've always thought of EX (podcast version, he's funnier) as like a living cartoon character. I love how he's so nitpicky about everything.

Like, for example, when he was reviewing Sparking Neo, he was annoyed because during the cutscene where Bardock attacks Freeza right before getting killed, he throws his power blast at the wrong time. In the show, he throws it as Freeza is creating his Death Ball, and it is sucked into Freeza's ginormous attack. In the game, Bardock launches his attack first, and THEN Freeza makes his death bomb. EX was pissed.

That particular example just sticks out to me because I doubt anyone outside this forum would even give a shit about this, let alone know about the difference.

Anyways, he's nerdy, but that's what makes the podcast so entertaining to listen to. I roffled when he detailed his trip to watch Movie 13 in theaters, but was so adamant about not watching it in English he ripped the entire audio from the Japanese version and played it on his iPod while he watched. I love it.

I obviously couldn't tell if there was joking-ness in there :). Don't get me wrong; I'd never be offended if someone thought I sounded "nerdy"... I'm more interesting in WHY they thought that. Like I said, if it's the voice... well, there's not a whole lot I can do about that. If it's the content matter, I present to you that they're obviously looking for a DBZ podcast in the first place, and therefore have no place debating relative "nerd"-iness :D.

To a degree, you're totally right in your assessment. Who we all are on the show is definitely a multiplied-caricature of ourself(ves). For the sake of entertainment, we (as Meri would say), "ham it up" a little bit. If it's completely flat and dry, sure, you've got the authority down pat... but you've lost the entertainment. If you have the entertainment down pat, you may be putting too much effort into that and lose the authority. Trust me, every episode I listen multiple times and analyze where we take things, and adjust accordingly in the future. It's a delicate balancing act, and we certainly try our best at what we do. It's all very conscious.

Well I just wanted to let you know you're doing a good job of it.

I don't listen to every podcast, but when I do tune in it's always very entertaining and informative. What I've loved most about it lately is the monthly manga volume reviews. It's cool to bring in a "DB-virgin" and hear their opinions on what they are reading through for the first time.

HA!

**Pictures Meri, Mike, and Julian screaming into the microphone and using "totally" and "awesome" every other word** At the end of the show:

Chopped Vegeta screams: Die! D-d-d-die!!!
Synthesized deep voice: -ZENSHUU **Vader breathing**
Street Fighter Announcer Voice: EX!!!
Synthesized girly voices: Dragonball in the morning!

I've had entire threads questioning my sanity (two occasions, on two seperate boards)... but never a hate thread.

Anyway, I find it amusing to go through other boards and find the biggest idiots I can, and chuckle to myself at them. For example:

Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!
