The S wrote:(Shrugs) I don't think it's any worse than Star Trek fans creating a language for their show.
But that's at least based on more robust fiction - the 'Saiyan language' is
never referenced. It's not like Klingon. Klingon has dozens of words spoken throughout the series, most of which are given direct translations to English. Further, there's clear and direct references to an alphabet (well, two, actually), And hell, there are official supplements detailing the language.
The Saiyan language? Not so much.

About the most in the way of "evidence" (i use the term lightly) that we have of the Saiya-jin having their own language(s), is their very unearthly sounding names and that fact that it's revealed that the Namekians have their own language (so if they do, chances are other DB races did as well)...
Those glyphs that we see in the Bardock special that have for "Kakkarot", look different from the symbols shown in the scouters..there's a pointer to them being from Saiyan.
Some words that i suspect of being of Saiyan origin - include "brutz", "zeno" and "gallik". it is possible that the Saiya-jin kept their language secret from Freeza..
Just Saiyan...

In the first DBZ game for NES, if you open the graphics to see them there are some glyphs that seem to be scouter numbers.

1) It's a universal language though. It's a name related to their species, not planet. Just like Guldo isn't a typical human name.
2) See 1, but good argument. However, the only letters we see in the scouter's language are in the words "Power Level." Everything else is in numbers. Therefore it's possible that the glyphs in the Bardock Special are just more from the unknown language.
3) Again, this could be universal. When something has no name, you name it. If a Saiyan named it, it doesn't necessarily mean it's from a Saiyan language.

Still they don't rule out any possibility of them not having their own language..

whether they did or not is more of a matter of personal opinion/views than anything.
But i strongly support the consideration that they did.

You see that's the thing, i'm not retarded enough to even
think about making up my own language, let alone actually trying.

Sometimes such idiocy can best be described in a single word.

While you have your own opinions, it'd be appreciated if you stated them without putting other people down. Keep in mind this is also a rule.
Rule #5: Attitude & Emphasis wrote:Be respectful of your peers. There are people of many different nationalities, ethnicities, sexualities, etc. If someone's factually incorrect, don't be afraid to correct them... but be nice about it. In turn, don't be a jerk if someone corrects you on something. Believe it or not, you don't know everything there is to know! Your opinions must be expressed with civility.
Not that I'm a moderator, but egging on the people around you will not get you "well liked" by other members of the board.
On another note, I'm not sure where this topic is going anymore since the original poster hasn't posted since (unless I'm mistaken O_o; ). Well, creating a language can be fun. Hmm, yeah. ^_^
Eh...yeah. Heheheh...
What's scarier than a DBZ H-game?

Demi, why are you here? If this topic isn't of any interest to you, why bother posting in it?
I see plenty of posts from you
analyzing video game clips,
wishing for particular characters,
talking about gaming hardware,
love for particular artwork, etc. Yet... you have the audacity to criticize a general conversation that really hasn't gone overboard into absurdity?
You're nothing but another nerd posting among other nerds on a message board dedicated to a 20-year-old Japanese cartoon. Pot calling the kettle black, anyone? Christ, you've essentially said
the same thing yourself, before. Are the only conversations that the great Demi is going to allow on someone else's forum conversations that only Demi would feel comfortable participating in?
If you're going to be hypocritical about it, you might as well do it somewhere else where you fit in with that type of crowd and won't be called on it.

Anyone interested in coming up with a Saiya-jin (and or Namekkian!) language should head to the Randomness boards.

We've got fourms there dedicated to just that, though they've not seen much life lately. (Come on people, you keep asking for a place for non-dragonball disscussion and then you never use it!

That was a portion of my point. I don't care how many "actual" Klingon words were said on Star Trek and how many were translated and all that... it's still all nerdy fanboy/girlism. Nobody really has the right to criticize others' fandom about
anything here... because we're all the same.
Battle High 2, starring Kyle Hebert as well as myself, has been released on Xbox 360, OUYA, PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox One!

You know what I did last night (and am going to do again tonight)? I tried to work out mathmatical rules for the Namekkian, Potara, and Metamouru fusion techniques. Why? Because I've been
writing my own table-top roleplaying game. For
eight years. Yeah. And I do it why listening to
rap songs about Entropy (which is a nice analogue to DragonBall, really). And before you ask who's baddass enough to sing about both drive-by shootings,
and nerdly enough to sing about the big bang, I'll just tell you. Gangster rapper
MC Stephen Hawking.
If you're weeping in the corner about nerdliness - you'd better be weeping about me.
