I realise I havnt posted much on this forum, but i do think Gado has a point. There needs to be some form of an off-topic place on this forum. Yes, its a Dragonball forum, but theres such a lack of personality here , it sometimes feels clostrofobic or something, its hard to explain. Dragonball is supposed to be fun.

I agree with you Steven, but it's not likely to change anyones minds. Anyone who only wants a dragonball forum has more than likely made hundreds of OT posts and is only kissing ass.

I like it here, but it does feel extremely restricitve. I often find myself not wanting to post because I think someone would just find an excuse to delete it.

Rob I wouldn't bother. We've tried this dozens of times before and the majority of people here, despite all the whining and complaing they do, barely put any effort into using that forum. Heck the last time I even swore to people that I would personally check that board at least once every single day for the next little while so as to play my part in keeping things active there. Yet still, people didn't stick around.

Daizex Randomness is a DEAD forum. Stop advertizing it. It would be better to start a new forum instead.
I've tried to post and get people there myself, but noone wants to go there.

Uh, am I the only one that sees the... er, idiocy to that? It's being advertized because it is what people (say they) want. It's only dead because no one ever frigging sticks around more than five minutes after seeing the low activity level. Making a new board wont do anything. If they don't go to the old one why would they go to the new one?

What is needed is for people to stop complaining that we need what we already have and actually start using it. And actually it isn't dead. It's been seeing new life the last few days and R29's moving in to their own board there for their fandub work.

If everyone that complained about the lack of an off-topic section here would actually take the effort to register at Randomness (if they haven't yet, or if their account was deleted due to not being used) and post there it'd probably be as lively, if not livelier, than it is here.

And it's not like another board hasn't already been attempted before. It died off before it even started. Why? Because the current generation of people around here would prefer to complain about not having an off topic area than expend the measly amount of energy it would take to actually use the board that exists.

Randomenss was highly active when it was made, nearly as much as the main boards. But when the old members here stopped coming here, and then stopped going there, it died off because the new members here were just too lazy to go there and keep it running.

People, Randomness is the answer to what you've been demanding. But it only works if you actually use it.

Yeah, but I do feel that it's a little inactive. That's because not many people pay attention to what's in a sig (the new-comers that we want to talk with)... but I'm definitely hopping on-board.

So, here's what we should do!

If that section linked to DaizEX Randomness, then... we would all be happy! It would be alive with activity; a place for us to greet newbies and go off-topic from this forum. Then, this place would be kept 'clean'.

But that's just a dream.

The forum is dead and noone wants to have something to do with a dead forum with 1year+ old topics.

We shouldn't need an EXTRA forum for Off Topic discussions. I think that VegettoEX knows that there is need for an Off Topic forum but also he knows that he hasn't got time for it. So what does he do? He lies about the reasons so that he can stand as high on his pedistal as usual.

You can have both a Dragonball forum and an Off Topic part. Any monkey can moderate an Off Topic forum, hell I have done it myself.

I know Mike has said before that an off-topic forum could evolve and snowball into it's own thing seperate from the main forum, which is an understandable concern.

Although something I'd be interested in seeing here would be something like a Semi-off-topic forum, for stuff like Dr. Slump or One Piece, which are heavily related to Dragonball, but not actually Dragonball itself.

You kinda closed the Introduction forums saiying that it went off topic in there, but still don't notice all the off topic discussions in the other threads...which can go for pages.
The "lying" part (didn't say lie at all, said it was vague, but meh) was about members being scared off which noone has noticed. At least you can give us examples.

Actually, Chibi Goten tried to start a new forum too about a year ago and it also died. This was also when people were once again asking for a place for off-topic discussions. Yet, even with a brand new place that she advertised and people like Conan and myself giving her a hand with, it still never took off. So don't be so sure your theory is right.

I'm trying to make a difference, and all I say that if we are going to have a forum for off topic discussions, the old one is not suitable. It's only that you guys are so immature that just because of that I say that a forum is dead and that you should stop advertizing it, you see it like an attack.

By the way, I'm certainly not afriad at all to spoeak my mind to Mike as I often visit his chatroom to speak to him for such reasons. Anyone that knows me can verify that I'm known for being the one to come out and directly say things to people when everyone else doesn't want to.

Oh, and am I scared of getting banned? No. Is this Mike's forum? Yes. Can he run it how he wants to? Yes. Did I know how he ran the forum before I joined? Yes. Did I join anyway, there-by agreeing to be part of the forum the way he runs it? Yes. We all knew how the place worked before we joined and we joined anyway.

If you want to make real life analogies, then this isn't a town hall. It's a private establishment.

Say there was a bar called "VegettoEX's Tavern." Some customers are happy going in there just for alcohol, but some others start telling the owner that they want food served there. The owner says he isn't interested in serving food; he just wants to run a bar. Some customers start calling the owner an asshole because he won't give them what they want, but others are perfectly fine with the bar as it is. He does let people sneak food in every now and then anyway, but one corner of the bar goes nuts with it, and he eventually becomes fed up with it and closes that corner off.

Talking about speaking up for yourself and then expecting Mike to not stick by what he wants to do with his forum is hypocritical. I wouldn't bend to other people's tantrums either if it went against my own wants.

And I, for one, am not afraid of getting banned. I just understand the difference between democracies and private establishments. I don't go into KFC and complain that they don't sell tacos after Colonel Sanders repeatedly said he isn't interested. I'm not too lazy to go find a Taco Bell when I want tacos.

I didn't post this initialy, but... maybe it can mean something?

I tend to frequent the randomness boards, other than a few little gaps here and there. But as you can see don't just randomly post crap... (Well, other than my "No really, I might actually do this!" posts on the RPG project thread...

). Mainly because there isn't anything I have much to say in response to (though a few things here and there almost got a response from me. XD), and I don't have much to start myself. I don't know what to make of this, so I'm putting it out there?

As for the introductions' lockdown: I was starting to get into frequenting that section, but my initial reaction to the anouncement was "Heh heh...".
I could go on, but I don't think anything I could say would be helpful at this point. I will say that I don't like forum fights...
