Any word whether or not these will still be "censored"?

I'm a little disappointed that these aren't hardcover. A lot of the Tokyopop omnibus editions are hardcover, so I was expecting the same from Viz. I mean, they re-released Vol. 1 of Ranma 1/2 and Naruto hardcover (and a few other titles I'm not sure about) so why can't we get hardcover for this?

Hardcover Manga sounds like it'd be a difficulty to actually read, given how I go about it.

I avoid hardcover comics.

Meh. The Kanzenban's aren't hardcover, although the covers are definitely tough.

I never did pick up the 1st volume of Ranma 1/2...is this hardcover version out yet? I tried a BnN's site but got the mixed message of a release date of January 08 and none of the closest 41 stores having any in stock.
On hiatus.

I didn't know they were re-releasing Ranma, will it still be backwards?

The hardcover Vol. 1 was. I doubt we'll ever see the day where we get a correct version of the Ranma manga in english.

I haven't seen any hardcovers other than various volume 1's, so I'm not sure if entire series will be put out this way, or if it is exclusive to the first volume.

The hardcover editions are quite nice! I was very surprised to see them. I saw Bleach and Death Note. I was going to pick up Death Note until I saw the price... $17.99? Come on, Viz! Seriously?

That's because of consistancy, things being different back then, and it would cost more money to re-do it.

So Tokyopop seems to have no trouble releasing old manga with revised translations and unflipped, while Viz goes "fuck no"?

Lovely. :/

But didn't Viz do that for Maisson Ikkoku? Remember, when Ranma was first being published it was the early 90s when unflipped manga wasn't really done. They did the rest of the series to stay consistant and not wierd folks by suddenly changing.

And what did Tokyopop do that was re-released unflipped that was flipped before?

Cardcaptor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth, and Bakuretsu (Sorcerer) Hunters comes to mind. And those are just the ones I own. I'm sure there're even more.

Oh man these are so bought if they are uncensored, my issue number 2 of Dragonball fell in the mud and issue 5 has its cover torn off (yeah I was a careless little boy.) I'll be glad to buy these over if they are uncut.

Well, we got a release date for volume two of "both" series.

Dragon Ball BIG Edition: Volume 2 - August 5th

Dragon Ball Z BIG Edition: Volume 2 - September 2nd

Its kinda odd that Z's second volume is coming out a month after Dragon Ball's, even though both of them had their first volume released at the same time.

...on the other hand, DBZ getting a 13+ rating has me curious. :D

For Rurouni Kenshin, yes.

For Dragonball? We'll be waiting until May.

Uh oh. I bought the Kenshin book and:

Uh...are the beginning pages of chapter four supposed to be in black and white? Because it has gray-tones like color pages turned black and white.

I sincerely hope this doesn't mean we're only getting one color chapter per collection because that would be pretty fucking stupid.

Well, shit. Hopefully Dragonball is treated a bit better.
