Now you think Ceyli is better?
Long way to go? As if Nadolny was even remotely as good as you're implying. Even if she was the best, she's just not a good actress.
I'd say a subdued emotional performance can outdo an OTT one, but even then, Nadolny's was perfectly appropriate given the scene she was in. Also, I have a problem with it sounding like Luffy at times because it comes off as a bit generic
That's not what generic means. You can do the same performance, and still sound distinct, and it's only a problem if you're familiar with One Piece which I'm not. You have to judge the performance on its own. My problem with Nadolny wasn't her being subdued, it's that she didn't sound like she was letting out her emotions, she just yells out a victory cry, and no, that wasn't appropriate for the scene. Goku shouldn't sound like he's won a match, he just went through hell to defeat his master and best friend's murderer. And that "over the top" was one friggin scream in an over the top moment!
Her Woody Woodpecker laugh isn't natural (nor cute) and your insistence that her delivery is in fact natural makes me think that you are ignoring that fact and basing your opinion purely on nostalgia.
The biggest truths aren't original. The truth is ketchup. It's Jim Belushi. Its job isn't to blow our minds. It's to be within reach.
