Here's another feature I'd like.

If you're playing a tag-team fight, and Character A is getting his/her butt handed to him/her, then pressing a certain button combo will allow Character B to jump in--but not just the regular tag, instead he/she makes a big dramatic entrance and throws off a moderately damaging attack while exclaiming that THEY will win.

Like Vegeta does against Android 19 or Metal Cooler or Bojack or Hildegarn, or Piccolo does against Broli (or Kuririn spoofing it, in the only good part of Movie 10).

I mean, isn't it always the same routine? Japan gets cool illustration, other countries (if they don't get the Japanese illustration) end up with some fugly photoshop montage.

An attack switch would be cool. Seen those in a few games.

Anyway, reading through this I got to thinking about all the stuff I'd like to see Meteor do differently than the last two. Some of which I hadn't mentioned yet (I believe) so I may as well say it all now. :)

* First, something I have mentioned. Numerous times. A character creation system. Other games have been doing them for yeeeeeeeears. And it would be far from difficult to include one in BT3 and create a near infinite character roster.

* Everyone being able to fly propperly.

* Hercule being able to cause people to react to his blows and more people being able to make the giants react to their blows.

* Sword slashing moves and energy disc type moves being able to cut off an Oozaru's tail to force them to revert.

* Either more What-if stories or an entirely new and original plot for the game with no trace of the original series story.

* Level changes! Ala B1 and B2. If you slam into the blue mesh barrier you don't stop, you get sent to another arena. Fall from the Lookout down into the city or wastelands, get knocked from the city out to the mountains, Go from Roshi's to the Islands, etc.

* Larger levels. It's too easy to reach different ends of the city. We need RAD size levels. (Robot Alchemic Drive for the unenlightened. Giant Robot game with biiig levels. Easily three or four times the size of those in the BT games, including vertically.)

I think that's all at the moment...

No, for the Sparking series, Europe got Japanese covers, same for Super DBZ.

Wow the boxart looks so fugly... I can't believe that the boxart will be like that but if it really is the real boxart, does Atari want to lose fans? Anyway, I will still buy the game.

The Tag Team idea is awesome, I like it, but still I really want the ability to select two or more of the same character, don't know why Neo did so little of that...

Character Creation would be awesome and with DragonBall Online coming out, wouldn't this be perfect to test the CCS? (Character Creation System)

Level Changes would be darn nice, I tell you. Linking two levels into one, it would be cool to knock someone into another arena and then fly there and be like "Had a nice flight?"

Bigger Levels is a must, they improved in Neo but I want even bigger, more power to run, more areas to hide.

Hey, here's something: that cover has a PEGI (like Europe's ESRB) rating, but this game is probably still too early in development to have been rated already. ;p

That reminds me; even though I had been playing Super DBZ for several weeks, I only recently found out that the Lookout level extends down to the base of Korin's tower, and with Upa to boot. Since the Lookout is pretty small, that would be a nice expansion to use.

And speaking of small levels, the Time Chamber is pretty small and empty too. I think it would be cool if you could knock your opponent through the door and be back on the Lookout. Linking complete levels like that would be a neat touch.

Linked arenas=Crazy max epic... I get the feeling this is going to be a unanimously aproved idea. ^^.

Since some characters have things that are cut off (tails, mostly, but Buu has antennae and Slug has ears... Etc), a means of doing stuff to those would make a lot of sense, especially for Oozarus, since the majority of Oozaru scenes in the series involved the tail being removed... Blades and disk of Destruction for the severing!

The tag-rescue-awesome-intro idea sounds like a win to me.

The weather and geological effects due to the battles should be more apparent. And eh, maybe if it gets intense enough it could affect other characters (I.E, if you're on the ground and something causes it to shake, it's harder to stand/jump/stay balanced, Etc).
What about random background thigns? Granted those aren't so prevalent in DBZ "...someplace completely desolate, that's a bajillion miles wide and isn't to be found anywhere on Earth, but it's right over there..."... but like there were cars and stuff in the cities in the first Sparking!, we could have ships and junk in ocean levels, or the farmer with shotgun hanging around somewhere. *cough*putDendeincertainarenasoreventsandhecanhealcertainpeople*cough*. Actually... Babidi, Kibito, Dende, and... I'm back on the support characters tangent that led to Bulma with a dragonradar... o.o.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: DBZ games need destructable environments.

They already do. XP But no, I know what you mean, and while it'd be cool... I don't think it'd work so well. I mean, every time you hit something it'd have to break to some degree. With some of the battles I've had in BT2... I'd have carved a crater deeper than the arena was tall.

Heh heh. What I would *love*, despite the load times it would require, is a Hyper Dimension type system where *all* the levels (that make sense to be) are connected.

So, lets say for example that you started in the Mountains arena. You fight and one of you gets knocked into the north barrier. This triggers the transition to, say, the Waste Land arena. Hit the east barrier and it's off to Korin's Tower. Knock them up to the top of the arena and it's up to the lookout. Smash them into the palace and you go into the ROSAT. That sort of thing. :D

I hope they give you the ability to actually destroy the lookout. Only destroying stuff on the lookout is getting boring. :|

Someone probably said this already but it would be nice to see animated cut scenes like the kind of animation seen in Budokai 2 and 3..

The only ones that I felt they were really missing in the last game were Nail, Chi-Chi and Dr Wheelo (They had every other movie villain, why not him?).
Check out our home made films!
Lots of martial arts action and comedy.

Hell, the animations from B3 would be nice. That's something the Sparking! games been lacking in general.

I know, hence the "if they don't get the Japanese illustration". I realize North America is especially unlucky at that little game...

Wow.

You people need to open your eyes...

The thing here that I find most surprising of all out of this, is the fact that anyone here is actually surprised that there's going to be another Sparking! game. They've been shelling out DBZ games on the PS2 since 2002, and your surprise/complaints of them "milking" DBZ are just as predictable and menotness as the games themselves. Get over it.

I am not surprised, they alway make 2 sequels to a good DBZ game, Budokai 1-3, LOG 1-3 and Sparking!-Neo-Meteor.

They should make a Mr. Satan What-if Story where he trains against ghost characters until he's all beefed up and you unlock a new Mr. Satan that makes people flinch and...stuff.

It's not the fact that there's going to be another Sparking! game that's suprising. It's that it's not using next gen graphics or being on a next gen console, like the PS3. They're just being a little too quick with this tis' all.
