Yeah you're right, little odd that it was Trunks though. I though he would have been smarter than that.ABED wrote:Trunks did, but not Vegeta. Well he is just an inexperienced kid he kept plowing forward assuming that Raw power was all that was required to win a fight, Gohan thought the same thing when Goku showed him Grade 2 and 3 in the rosat before Goku explained why those forms wouldn't work. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0J_u97yaJEQWibbs wrote:Yeah you're right, little odd that it was Trunks though. As qjz123 wrote, it makes more sense that it was Trunks. Vegeta is older, more experienced, and battle tested. It makes sense that he and Goku didn't make the mistake.Yeah you're right, little odd that it was Trunks though. I though he would have been smarter than that.

Re: The Cell Saga Is The Lowest Rated Saga?
I didn't mean that it should have been Vegeta. I just figured after a year Trunks would have figured out that this new form of his wasn't the real deal and was just going to slow him down. After all that careful planning he did in the Android saga it seems a little strange that he would slip up like that, experienced fighter or not.ABED wrote:As qjz123 wrote, it makes more sense that it was Trunks. Well this is awkward....The Cell Saga Is The Lowest Rated Saga?
Found a old flashdrive. It was from when I was a rising AMV maker. I ask the fans what Arc should I make an AMV on. So I asked popular editors to speard the poll. The poll since deleted and honestly could probably with hard work be found again. But my flashdrive from 2012 has the results. I found it really cool and I had to share it.

Sadly YouTube copyright it so I had to make A Namek arc one. Back then I said Saga and appealed to Eng dub fans for cheap views.
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn7fE4B4eXk. Here's the video if anyone curious.
If we talking about ratings why don't we just get TV ratings from Toonami, Fuji Tv, Tooniverse, or other stations that showed Dbz and compare ratings to all arcs. Not going to change opinions most likely

What careful planning did Trunks do? He neglected to do something as simple as tell the Z Team what the cyborgs looked like or that they don't have ki to sense.

He gave Goku medicine... that counts I guess. Sorry, I didn't think about my earlier post before I said it. I don't know Trunks just seems like a smart kid, certainly smart enough to notice that his new bulky, heavy Super Saiyan form only allows for one punch a minute. Goku figured it out didn't he? What does that say about Trunks, that he's too hasty and doesn't think before a fight?ABED wrote:What careful planning did Trunks do? I doubt he trained much with the form. Remember, he thought that Vegeta didn't know he had it. Seeing as they were in the same place, I doubt he's actually done more than transformed into the form.Wibbs wrote:He gave Goku medicine... that counts I guess. Trunks isn't Goku. Goku's a brilliant fighter, so it makes sense that he'd figure it out right away. Trunks is smart, but he doesn't always think things through. All this says about Trunks is that he's a teenager and a greenhorn.Wibbs wrote:He gave Goku medicine... that counts I guess. Sorry, I didn't think about my earlier post before I said it. Yeah, he gave Goku medicine, but that was more of future Bulma's plan.

Even still, Trunks must be perceptive enough to know that a giant, muscle bound body won't give him the power/speed balance necessary to defeat Cell. I'm not trying to be literal here, but why would Trunks transform into Chunky-SSJ or whatever it's called, take a look at it and decide it's fit for battle. Even Goku tried it out a bit first. You don't just look at a 30 inch thick sword and say to yourself "yeah, that'll do" without giving it a few swings first. Man, Trunks is either really hasty or really dumbKamiccolo9 wrote:I doubt he trained much with the form. Remember, he thought that Vegeta didn't know he had it. Re: The Cell Saga Is The Lowest Rated Saga?
He didn't know how strong or fast Cell would get in his perfect form and perhaps he got on some level that there was a tradeoff, but didn't figure it was that drastic to make a big difference. Even smart people can make mistakes that in retrospect seem obvious.

I see where you're coming from. To be honest I was thinking about it too much. Who says he didn't? Trunks realizes that Vegeta never used the form because he knew about its weaknesses.Wibbs wrote:I see where you're coming from. To be honest I was thinking about it too much. That comparison didnt feel right though, Ridlo in no way really proved that it made a coherent comparison.Kamiccolo9 wrote:For what it's worth, Buu was used as the measure of strength in the early parts of GT. RoST wasnt invented in that arc though. I'm pretty sure it already existed in dragonball.thatdbzguy wrote:RoSaT. It's a highly convenient thing brought right the F out of no where.

Why does it matter how it "felt?" Goku flat-out said that he was stronger than Buu. Which Buu is a matter for debate, of course, but a Buu is still a Buu.SingleFringe&Sparks wrote: That comparison didnt feel right though, Ridlo in no way really proved that it made a coherent comparison.

I meant it wasnt believable based on what little Ridlo was. I could recolour a Saibaman and say that too but there is nothing to back that up.Kamiccolo9 wrote:Why does it matter how it "felt?" Rildo was a match for Goku, and later took on Gohan. I'd say he more than backed it up. Goku's freakishly strong in GT, at the very least the level of one of the Buu Arc SSJ2's.SingleFringe&Sparks wrote:I meant it wasnt believable based on what little Ridlo was. Re: The Cell Saga Is The Lowest Rated Saga?
Again you have to remember in terms of raw power this form rivals SSJ2 imo, you saw Gohan's reaction to it. Trunks being the inexperienced child he is found this form and essentially said to himself wow so much power and he kept plowing forward. Cell tells Trunks why he'll never win here http://youtu.be/w-1nQwcaizY?t=4m6s and Trunks thinks he's bluffing, here Cell shows Trunks that anyone can puff up their muscles http://youtu.be/w-1nQwcaizY?t=8m he also told him that Vegeta understood that this form was useless and here http://youtu.be/w-1nQwcaizY?t=8m38s Trunks realizes that Vegeta must've known that this form was useless and realizes what a fool he's been. Even after all that he still doesn't understand what Goku and Gohan have done http://youtu.be/P7P6ifM5PrI?t=16m16s. So I think we can conclude that if Trunks can't even understand why Goku and Gohan are doing what they're doing he sure as hell wouldn't have been able to accomplish it himself.Wibbs wrote: Even still, Trunks must be perceptive enough to know that a giant, muscle bound body won't give him the power/speed balance necessary to defeat Cell.
