Zero...haha, oh you. I'm so glad America has gotten past the bizarre name changes phase.

I'm also going to be involved in the writing. And yeah, we'll try not to be inconsistent about suffixes, in fact, we probably wont be using them. As for Kuririn, I'm kinda iffy on this one since I know most people will have difficulty pronouncing it the japanese way. I'm pretty much willing to accept Krillin.

I really hope we don't have to talk with Japanese suffixes, because well, this isn't Super Milk-chan or Shin-chan, it's DBZ - where Japan doesn't exist (hence there's no point to using suffixes since we're speaking in full English). I say let's just go with King Kai or Lord Kaio for our favorite blue deity. If you guys may notice, in my Yamcha audition, I went with "Spirit Ball"...an accurate translation, but apparently, we're doing attack names by Japanese use, so I've made sure all other attack names in my auditions are as such. I'm still kinda confused why "Kuririn" must be pronounced exactly as it is, I mean I understand keeping the pun, but would you pronounce Vegetto "Vegorat" if we were dubbing the Potara episodes?

Because Kuririn is a pun on a japanese word and you kind have to preserve that aspect of the pronounciation, I mean, you wouldn't pronounce haruka 'harka' or midori 'midley' would you?

But all the same I don't think you'd necessarily be expected to say it that way, I'll just definitely write it that way to confuse the hell out of you. Really, though, I wouldn't worry about it.

That...just sounds odd. Although it'd be inconsistent with the basic laws of English and the fundamentals of the translations we'd be using, his name just sounds better as "Son Goku".

Then again, aside from Piccolo calling him "Son" in the movie, I don't think Goku's full name ever comes up, so perhaps we can avoid it altogether.

That's different, because haruka and Midori are actual Japanese names whereas Kuririn/Krillin is not, and therefore is subject to different rules as far as being put into English are concerned.

I still think it should retain an L for the sake of properly breaking up the word and making it flow a bit better. Kurilin, maybe? It is something no one else has used, retains the pun, AND still gives the idea that his name is not nessecerally Japanese.

Just an idea.

I actually already PM'd Daimou, asking him what Shinseiju translated to. Still waiting on an answer from him, so I just left it alone in the auditions. Unless anyone else could translate it?

"Lord Kai" sounds pretty good, by the way. Should we go with that, Eclipse? Everyone else?

In spite of how extremely off-topic that was, I still lol'd.

Alright, alright. We'll just go with "King Kai." Just because it was coined by FUNimation doesn't make it bad. It's perfectly logical translation-wise, and if you ask me, it portrays the goofy side of him well. Done and done with that.

I have no problem with Lord Kaio/Kai but if King Kai seems better, then so be it. To more important news:

I finally picked up that FUNi boxset today. The first three movies for about $20! The only problem is that I don't see a tree covering Gohan's private parts towards the end..

So if you get a chance, pick it up. There were only a handful left at my Best Buy so take advantage. That Broli Boxset looked pretty good too....

I couldn't do this in the audition page, but I appreciated Mr.A's art for the You Tube videos.

-edit-To actually fill this unintended double post, I think he should be billed as "Son Goku" but I think he should be called "Goku". As for Kurilin, I guess it doesn't really matter, unless we are having subtitles, right? You guys aren't making these auditions easy >< I might have another run.. This time, its somewhat personal.

That wasn't the point of the videos...but yeah, I do like those drawings. I gotta make more of those. Since everyone's doing so many characters I may try a few others.

Kurilin? I could go for that I guess, but it just seems pointless to change one r if you're gonna leave the other. So basically the VA's will be pronouncing it the same as Krillin, only with a ku at the start? That seems awkward somehow.

As for Son Gokuh/Gokuh Son, I just think it sounds weird the other way around. I know that's an arbitrary way to decide but c'mon, Gokuh Son? Damn, now that I've said it enough it's actually started to sound okay.

Actually, as far as the auditioning goes, I really liked how you voiced Chichi. Kuririn wasn't bad either. But, who I'd really like to hear you try is Gohan--you seem to have a low-sounding enough voice to make him sound like a boy without making him sound too old, I think.

As for how "Goku Son" sounds, well, yeah, the more you look at it, the less weird it does seem. I think it's because we're so used to hearing it as "Son Goku" that it sounds awkward in the first place... o_o;

Oh, and as for the drawings with the auditions, there was actually something Rick wanted to request of you. Has he asked you already?

Seriously, just pulling off Chichi was difficult. My voice is too low for a five year-old, but I'll try it maybe. And as for Rick, I dunno. If it's about redrawing some of his art then yes, he asked but I didn't have time for it.

Well, I was going to pm you, Mr. A, but here it is: It was a bit of a blirt on my part, but Kaboom and I were talking about some sort of "movie poster" if you will. Doesn't have to be an actual poster but a picture for the dub project. It was a just an idea that came across, if time isn't exactly on your side we'd understand
