Pokemon's breached 1000 episodes!?
That's madness.
*Hasn't watched it since a few episodes into Johto*.
You'd think they'd run out of things to make episodes about by now.

Not so long as Nintendo keeps making games. Although it's hard to imagine what Pokemon they can make next, having done every element, nature itself, every human emotion, cosmic forces, time and space and even God.

WOW.
That's...I don't know what else they could cover. Almost anything else wouldn't be nearly as marketable.
Inanimate objects? Foods?

There are 585 episodes of Pokemon so far.
I haven't watched it in a while, but I still play the games.

MasakoX.
Anyway, as far as airing, wasn't it mention they were doing double weekly episodes and if there is 100 single episodes, that means it would air over a one year period. Someone correct me if I am missing something.

No, because One Piece airs right after it at 9:30.

What a way to get viewers Toei. So they aren't completely stupid after all.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Jump's official Dragonball DVD Blog was updated today, and after running the page through Yahoo BabelFish, it seems that the new HD version of the series was mentioned towards the bottom of the post:

So if maybe
Herms or anyone else fluent in Japanese could do some translating, that would be great!!

Oh, there it is. Hujio e-mailed me about that, but I couldn't find where it was talking about the new broadcast of the series. It doesn't look like there's anything new information at all though.

With my limited knowledge of Japanese, there doesn't appear to be any new information. Oolong and Yamcha talk about it being remastered in HD and it airing and it will air every week. It also has the start date, April 5th at 9:00-9:30. They also mention the last three release dates for the Dragonbox Movie Singles, the 12th of March.
No new information.

Alright, thanks guys. It's too bad that they don't post full-resolution screenshots on the blog, becasue I'm sure some screenshots of the new HD broadcast version will eventually be posted... just in low quality.

Yeah, I was surprised when you e-mailed me back saying you couldn't find it on the page. Oh well. There wasn't any new information, so I wasn't too worried about it.
Here's what Oolong and Yamcha had to say about it:
Official Production Diary Blog wrote:Oolong: Lastly, there's some news!
Yamcha: Information?......... Oh yeah, I remember!
Oolong: This April, "DragonBall" will once again be broadcast on TV every week!
Yamcha: Yes! And the video will much clearer with the HD remastering!!
The weekly Sunday morning series will broadcast on Fuji TV from 9:00 to 9:30 beginning April 5th!
For more details check Weekly Shounen Jump's "Ani-Base!"
"Ani-Base" refers to the section in Weekly Shounen Jump that first broke the news that DragonBall Z was being "refreshed." The actual title of the section is "Jump Animation Information Base." Incidentally, it has a
website... that hasn't been updated since late May 2008.
