I was thinking that maybe with the PS2 controller, I would have much more fun, but I still don't know if the wii version will be better. Which version should I get? The wii version looks pretty good, but the fact that I have to HOLD B, and TWIST the controller to the left or right means that I have less of a chance to pull of a special move, especially with the way the guy in the jeux-france video was playing. Gah, I dont know what to buy. Can someone help me out here?
Chances are the Wii controls will get tweaked as E3 was more or less a testing ground if Red Steel is any indication.

Well, as you can see in the Nintendo Power scans I posted a page ago, Ryo Mito is seen doing a Kamehameha, and I don't know if that was avaliable at E3 for doing or not, but it looks pretty cool. He has to make all the motions with the controller. :P
I really, really need to get back into the habit of posting.

Well... unless you've got some bad-ass ninja skills, I don't think you'll be able to play it on any mode higher than easy with the Wii (I can just about do the original with a PS2 controller). And, if you think about it, it will cost a lot more overall (the price of the game, broken furniture, dislocated limbs, etc...). So, I think you should just go with the PS2 version.

Besides, any Dragonball fan should be tired of reenacting the fight scenes by now, right? I can't tell you how many times I've injured my brother playing a Piccolo Vs #17 fight... :P

But think how much fun some of the other fights will be.

Slicing the hell out of Mecha-Freeza will be a blast!

EDIT: I just noticed on the official Sparking! Neo website (http://dbzs-neo.jp)

They've included an image of Tullece(interestingly called "T u r l e s" on the site)
Image

As well as adding some new characters to the flash scroll on the main page including: Janemba, Bojack, 3rd from Freeza, and Majin Buu (Gohan Absorbed)
There is no better combination in the world than Dragonball, Cherry Pepsi, and Cheez-Its. It's a proven fact.

How is it everybody always ends up getting their magazines before I do? It's a conspiracy, I tell you. You'd think living in the same bloody state would give me an advantage....

But anyway, all these images and videos have cemented it for me; even if I do end up getting a Wii, I am totally not getting Sparking! NEO for it. Unless I find it in a bargain bin. It shouldn't be more complicated to do a Kamehameha than it would be to actually perform one. And by that, I don't just mean the posturing; I mean the channeling of one's chi and everything.

actually, doing a kamehameha with the Wii controller seems about as easy as doing it regularly, and a lot easier for someone who doens't play games.

you just pull back, twist the controllers slightly, then push forward. easy. considering some might even be easier (such as Genkidama probably being "raise the controller, then swing it down") it looks to be great.

When the movie "Tree of Might" were released in Norway (and sure some other lands) he was called Turles. So it isn't wrong.

Noooo! Let's not get into this again. Telluce is the proper name, it's a play on the word 'lettuce'. In the Japanese language there's no 'L' sound, so they user 'R' instead. That's why we also hear 'Piccoro'.

(and there's a word filter for Turles, it switches to Turles)

No, actually I play the game on the hardest difficulty, and it's WAAAY too easy. I wish they had a higher form of difficulty. I stopped playing Tenkaichi for about 5 months, and then I started up again! Little did I know, I could kick-butt on the hardest difficulty within 5 minutes...I am starting to rethink the wii purchase I was about to make...

Oh yeah? Well, I'll have you know I play Budokai 3 on "Z3" mode. Now that's fun. Bet you can't beat that, eh? 8)

Well, it's not like it's been officially stated to be the correct name, right? It's just a possible spelling that shows the pun pretty well, and that's it.

No, it's the absolute only name he could have (and still make sense). To call him Tarus or Turles would be like saying 'DoragonBaru' or 'Piccoro'. It's not suppossed to be pronounced that way - it just is because of the limitations of the Japanese language.

It's very important ideas like 'Turles' don't propogate, it's misinformation.

And just because it was seen on an offical product's website doesn't mean it's correct. The Super DBZ website spell's it 'Klilyn'.

-edit- damn! I forgot about the filter!

Heh, sorry - I forgot about the name filter in my last post :P

His name is 'Telluce', you pronounce it like 'Lettuce' but with the first syllable reversed from 'let' to 'tel' (like "tell" "us").

You would attempt to pronounce it the same if you were Japanese, you'd just have a hard time doing it. You'd probably substitute R's for L's. So 'Telluse' (tell - us) becomes 'Terrus' (ter - us, or tar - us). I'm not sure where 'Turles' (ter - les) came from, it sounds more like a rearrangment of 'Lester' than 'lettuce'.

No, there's a fair number of possible spellings.
"Tulece" is a spelling that was used on Japanese merchandise, for example. And it works fairly well. Who's to say there has to be two "L"s?
It's not suppossed to be pronounced that way - it just is because of the limitations of the Japanese language.
But how would you know how it "really" is supposed to be pronounced? Who told you?
just because it was seen on an offical product's website doesn't mean it's correct.
And just because a fan-made spelling is close to the word the "name pun" was based on, that doesn't necessarily mean it's correct either.
The Super DBZ website spell's it 'Klilyn'.
Why not? Besides, that spelling is extremely common, in Japan.
I'm not sure where 'Turles' (ter - les) came from, it sounds more like a rearrangment of 'Lester' than 'lettuce'.
The name is spelled "ta-resu" in kana, whereas the English word "lettuce" is spelled "retasu" in kana. There's an extra "-" in the name of the character.
So, ironically, the Japanese spelling of the name itself sounds more like a pun on the name "Lester" (which would be "resuta-"in kana) than on the word "lettuce".

And "ta-" (with the extra "-") could very well stand for "tur". So "Turles" isn't that weird, based on the kana. It's a possible spelling. The only problem being that the "lettuce" pun isn't quite visible anymore.
