Yeah, but not until episode 118, which we're nowhere near.

Here's what I was typing up as the episode went by:

Wow, sponsored by Bandai and McDonalds. McDonalds!?

The eyecatch was OK, but I didn't really like the Dream 9 logo in there.

The BGM is good so far, and I love the recap of the Bardock special and of DB. I love the Dragon Sould based BGM pieces used during the recaps!

It's hard to tell for sure, but it seemed like the digitally enhanced ki-blast and explosion effects stuck out a bit.

No problems with the completely new dub so far.

Love the cut-down of filler and the bright pretty colors!

I really liked Raditz's arrical theme!

Great ending theme and animation!

Hmm... a Bruce Faulconer/Shunsuke Kikuchi/Kenji Yamamato competition sounds good.
I don't think we should bring Bruce into this just yet... :)

Anyway, great episode all in all. But the openings and closings, and the eyecatches: the new animation just clashes so drastically with the older (re-drawn) stuff. It's not that's it's bad animation, just a bit strange. :P

It felt nicely trimmed. If the other episodes continue at that pace, I'll be quite happy. :)
In a nutshell: Likes the sub and the dub and barely ever posts.
You'll probably find me here more often...

I really enjoyed it, but there's no way in hell I'm ever gonna watch it streaming again. It was like watching a blocky slideshow most of the time.

I'm definitely gonna wait for the torrents and will possibly import the Blu-rays. :)

Dragonsoul sounds like Dan-Dan, and that's a good thing.

Anyone record the OP and ED? I missed like half of the OP because KeyholeTV was acting up, so I DL'ed TVants.

Episode 1 just finished on TVAnts, was AWESOME~! Didn't really mind the cropping, but then I didn't really mind it when FUNi did it either. It's very cool that Toei's at least focused on the framing. Absolutely loved the pacing and how the ep ended, plus, yay for the crab still falling? Loved the new animation in the ending credits and the commercials after the episode finished were hysterical~

That's too bad, but where could I find torrents for Kai?

So this episode covered the first two chapters of the Z era, 195-196. Chapter 196 ends with Raditz tail-slapping Kuririn, and Goku being shocked to see Raditz's tail, which is right where the episode leaves off. They leave out a bit of dialogue Raditz has in the manga after flying away from Piccolo, where he wonders if Kakarot has lost the pride of the Saiyans (with a picture of baby Goku in his speech bubble). This may be because since they showed Goku's birth on Planet Vegeta earlier and all, Raditz's speech here was redundant.
