Probably not any time this month (the release date is still 11/15, right?)
November 10th (11/10) actually. I've been running to my email in the morning ASAP for the past few days and will continue to do so until I get the confirmation.

You'll be waiting a little longer. It looks like there's going to be a week delay for the DBOX. Amazon and RightStuf list it as coming out on the 17th now.

Good things come to those who wait. Cliche, but it's true.
We've waited this long, an' all . . .

I missed out on the RightStuf sale so I got mine from Amazon. Mine will ship later than the RS ones but I don't care... I'm more anxious to see one of you fine folks do a dissection!

Regarding Rightstuff vs Amazon, RightStuff just doesn't have as reliable a shipping method as Amazon, so they'll tend to ship pre-orders ridiculously earlier, which will usually turn out in the buyer's favor. If they screw up that way too many times, they could be sued. Seeing as they're the official FUNi store, however, the likeliness of them being sued for pre-street date releasings (as opposed to Blockbuster or Amazon) is pretty much non-existant.

Don't worry it's just a week you can wait.

So I should order from amazon from now on or is their shipping just better?

I got the same e-mail.
A little more waiting isn't going to make a difference at this juncture, though.

Thats true. It'll just give me more time to focus on Modern Warfare 2.
I wonder when they will announce Dragon Box 2.

Hello from Amazon.com. We're writing about the order you placed on September 07 2009. Unfortunately, the release date for the item(s) listed below has changed, and we need to provide you with a new delivery estimate based on the new release date:
Sean Schemmel, et al "Dragon Ball Z: Dragon Box One"
Estimated arrival date: November 20 2009 - November 24 2009
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this delay.
*****
WHY WAS MY ORDER DELAYED?
While we do our best to adhere to our delivery estimates, our inventory is constantly changing based on information we receive directly from our suppliers. Occasionally, unexpected fluctuations in supply, delays during shipping, or changes in release dates for new products will add time to our original delivery estimate.
*****
WHAT IF I WANT TO CHANGE OR CANCEL MY ORDER?
If your order hasn't entered the shipping process, you can change or cancel it by clicking on Your Account at the top of any Amazon.com page. Once there, choose "Open and Recently Shipped Orders". If the order is "shipping soon" or "completed", you won't be able to make any changes as it's on the way out the door; we apologize for any inconvenience.
*****
WHAT IF AN ITEM HAS SHIPPED AND I NO LONGER WANT IT?
If your shipment arrives too late, you may either refuse delivery or return it to us for a refund. For returns instructions, please visit our Returns Center at
www.amazon.com/returns.
*****
HOW DO I CONTACT YOU ABOUT MY ORDER?
If you have more questions about this order, you can e-mail or phone Customer Service by clicking the "Contact Us" button on the right side of any Help page (
www.amazon.com/help).
Sincerely,
Customer Service Department
http://www.amazon.com
==============================
Well... DAMN! Oh well... I really doubt that it's an issue with the release date, it might have to do with the amount of preorders vs the amount they have in stock. If so, I'll gladly wait, I want these sets to do good!

I wish there was an official Dbox thread that wasn't locked that I could post this in, but I emailed right stuff and asked if the set was delayed.
Thank you for your email.
The manufacturer of Dragon Ball Z Season 1 Dragon Box Z DVD Set is now
estimating that we will receive this item between November 17 and November 24.
I apologize for the delay.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to assist you.
Thank you for your business!

If you live outside the US, I would recommend Amazon over Right Stuff. Like I said, Right Stuff is only ridiculously early because they're able to risk pre-street date releases. That gives them an edge. If you live outside the US, things could get held up at customs, etc, making that edge irrelevent. Meanwhile, Amazon has distributors all over the world, so they could bypass customs by shipping from within your own country or city.

Was the release date on the Dragon Box 11/10/09 or 11/17/09 cause I think Right Stuf has changed the date now.

It was the 10th. They moved it back a week. Regardless Rightstuf will probably ship it early. Got my Druaga Season 1 already and it doesn't come out Till Nov. 3.

Wow. That's good to hear. So I expect the Dragon Box to arrive somewhere in the 1st week of November.
