I'm not a huge fan of the Sparking games since I found them too simple in my opinion. The third game might be the best in the franchise, but I enjoy the other DBZ games much better. Even some of the SNES games were better in my opinion.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

Well, if I wanna go trough some part of the series and don't wanna watch whole or bunch of 20 minute episodes, my definite experience is the Japanese version of Sparking! Meteor with Japanese version of Budokai 1 titled simply Dragon Ball Z on it's tail. So for me, Sparking! Meteor is probably the bst game from fan's point of view (discarding any pro fighting s**t).

I'd put the LOG trilogy (even the original LOG as I have lots of nostalgia for that game for some reason), Infinite World, and then perhaps BT3.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

I think as an overall game, it would either be Budokai 3 or Shin Budokai: Another Road. Infinite World was a combo of the 2, so its fighting system was the best I've seen not only for a DBZ game, but a fighting game in general; however, it lacked in terms of the story mode compared to the other 2, not to mention the cinematic scope that was removed really gave more of a DBZ feel. The other games didn't really have a solid fighting system, besides maybe Raging Blast

Don't tell me you forgot of Super DBZ, the game is Street Fighter with DBZ characters basically.

Awesome game, sadly, it's hated by some or most of the Tenkaichi/RB fans because it's too hard for them. Damn noobs.

BT3 is the best Dragonball game.

It is not, however, the best game featuring Dragonball.

Yeah the fanbase at the time really didn't open up to it. A lot of fans are now praising because in hindsight, its better than the stuff that has come out since. I am a Tenkaichi fan but I had a lot fun when SDBZ first came out.

Shame on me , I even have that game. Though in my defense, I can't stand Capcom's fighting systems, I much prefer the Tekken/Mortal Kombat/Virtua Fighter style

It's fun but it's no Budokai 3.

Why would I want to play a street fighter clone with a pitiful roster of DBZ characters? I'll take Budokai 3 or infinite world any day when it comes to a more 2D style.

Here, here. There are plenty of reasons to dislike Super DBZ besides "being too hard".
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Because every single character in that "pitiful roster" is entirely unique and fleshed out?

And it's not even really a SF clone. SF is on a strictly 2D plane.

That's not much of a difference =/. Sparking Meter also has differentiations between characters. They are just less noticable do to the those damn stock attacks.

The game is far from a Street Fighter clone but does take in some influences given the fact that the lead director also worked on Street Fighter II. To date, I feel like Super DBZ has the best level design out of any Dragonball fighting game. It has an opened up map that allows you to fly around a' la Dragonball Style, all while avoiding the terrible split screen problem seen in the Tenkaichi series. And while yes, Super DBZ has a small roster it is FAR from pitiful. It is currently the only game with adult Chi-chi and the Mecha Freeza redesigned by Toriyama. Yea, these are the only characters no other game has featured, but the ones you have seen before are so refreshing to play as. No two characters are the same. Hell, with the skill trees, the same characters are hardly the same as well. It's really fun to try and learn a new character...or relearn the same character with different skill points. Plus, Trunks with a Samurai or Laser Sword? Pimp!

It has it's faults yes. My two biggest complaints are weak audio quality and lack of variety in the game modes, it's just straight up arcade fighting. However it's a solid fighter at that. While I don't really expect to see a sequel I'm kind of bummed to see that Dimps or Spike didn't even get inspired by what Super Dragonball Z brought to the table. The manga flair, the level design, the unique customization and character design...nothing. It's a shame really.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

You know, I really want to see a freakin Burst Limit 2. Burst Limit had great potential and I had a lot of fun with it.

Dragon Ball Z Budokai was fun, though, I don't feel any need to play it other than for the story mode. That's really the only reason I would play the Budokai games or the Sparking! games (if the controls in the Sparking! games weren't so complicated). Super Dragon Ball Z, on the other hand, is the only DBZ game I would ever want to play for the sake of playing with friends. It's the only one that's a real fighting game. I don't understand why it's so disliked. o_o

I wish Bulma was playable on BT3 or any other game as an unlockable character, I know she is on Budokai 3 JPN with a cheat device or something.

She'd probably be useless, but nonetheless fun to play as.
