Well, he does tell Freeza to go off somewhere to recover and hone his skills (this is before Freeza cuts himself in half, of course)...though re-reading it now, he says that Freeza should do this if Freeza wants to settle the score. So maybe Goku himself wasn't interested in a rematch. Looks like I misremembered that part.mAcChaos wrote:I never thought he wanted a rematch from Freeza. He truly detested him. Re: Things that didn't make sense in-universe
Another thing that doesn't make sense. Even for someone with special power and abilities, how can someone suppress their power down to literally half a percent of their strength? Thinking about Frieza in his first form and then comparing it to his 100%. 530,000 > 120,000,000. Wow.
Also, another thing I don't understand is why Frieza's race was never mentioned? What kind of being is he? And is he a relatively strong being compared to the rest of his race? I assume they were all wiped out just like the Saiyans because its only Frieza and his father that they show. (well, his brother too if you count the non-canon movies)

Taiyoken + Kienzan = easy victory. Now why didn't Kuririn think of that combo? That could have easily killed Nappa, Vegeta and even Freeza.

Speaking of, I've seen Goku only use 1 Taiyoken in the entire show. He could have used it in several different situations!Codarik wrote:Taiyoken + Kienzan = easy victory. Now why didn't Kuririn think of that combo? That could have easily killed Nappa, Vegeta and even Freeza.

If that random guy happened to be a psychopath that kidnapped and murdered my wife and children and burned my house, then i'd be a lot more pissed at them.mAcChaos wrote:I never thought he wanted a rematch from Freeza. For Vegeta though, Freeza had way more personal significance to him than Buu, even if Buu was stronger. What's going to rattle you more, getting beaten by your Dad or some random guy on the street?

Things would go too quick and constantly defeating villians with that combo would be boring. And maybe because Vegeta in his Oozaru form dodged it without seeing it so others wouldn't have problem dodging it even without sensing Ki.Codarik wrote:Taiyoken + Kienzan = easy victory. Because it wouldn't work.Codarik wrote:Taiyoken + Kienzan = easy victory. Now why didn't Kuririn think of that combo? That could have easily killed Nappa, Vegeta and even Freeza.
Krillin attacked Oozaru Vegeta from his back (blindspot) with his Kienzan when Vegeta couldn't feel ki. Did it work? No. He just moved.
Krillin also attacked Freeza with his Kienzan from his back (blindspot) when Freeza thought Krillin was dead, while Freeza was distracted by Gohan and Freeza couldn't feel Ki. Did it work? No. He just moved.
With Taiyoken Krillin would create a blindspot, but all the adversary would have to do would be move away.

Re: Things that didn't make sense in-universe
Toriyama spoke a bit about Freeza recently. Basically, Freeza doesn't have a race per say. He and his father King Cold are mutated life forms and are the only one's of their kind.Eternal Super Saiyan wrote:Another thing that doesn't make sense. Here is the Q & A: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/translations/ ... -super-qa/ (eighth question down).
Re: Things that didn't make sense in-universe
Another one: Freeza didn't attack Earth with a full invasion force. He just commandeered his father's yacht and security detail.
Seriously, we could have seen the other side of Freeza: The fact that he is the cruellest warlord in the Galaxy and had the army to back it up.
Though I still wonder why Goku was "You wiped out Earth's population in a single stroke, then you turned my wife into an egg and crushed it in front of my son before massacring the lookout and devouring them, then you absorbed my sons and used them against me and Vegeta, then you blew up the planet with them around and went on a Killing Spree and tortured Vegeta in ways that would make Freeza vomit. Hope we can fight again sometime." to Buu, who had been proven beyond doubt to be evil incarnate. Yet he goes "I'LL KILL YOU TO DEATH!" when he fights Freeza, who had only killed ONE person in Goku's presence.

Fair enough, but still. Goku had to watch Buu be an even worse monster than Freeza. He had to watch his sons become a part of buu and die. He had to watch Chi-chi turned into an egg and his friends get devoured. I'd think Goku would have been full of pure rage beyond that on Namek when he returned to fight buu.Kamiccolo9 wrote:Two, actually. Goku knew that Krillin had already been revived with the Dragon Balls. As far as he could figure, Krillin was gone for good. In the Buu saga, he knows that as long as they defeat Buu, everything can be set right.Hades wrote: Fair enough, but still. Goku had to watch Buu be an even worse monster than Freeza. But Krillin had already been revived when he was killed by Buu, along with most of Earth's population from the Cell Saga and King Piccolo. Even the fact that you can resurrect your wife and children if they've been eaten by a sadistic psychopath doesn't mean you'd be more willing to forgive said psychopath.rereboy wrote:Goku knew that Krillin had already been revived with the Dragon Balls. Apparently it does for Goku. Remember, he was going to let Nappa (who killed 3 of his friends), and Vegeta (who was responsible for those and more) go as well.Hades wrote:But Krillin had already been revived when he was killed by Buu, along with most of Earth's population from the Cell Saga and King Piccolo. Re: Things that didn't make sense in-universe
Technically, Super Buu did almost all of that stuff, not Pure Buu. He never forgives Super Buu; in fact I don't think he shows any feelings towards him other than fear and horror. Pure Buu was the one who technically killed his sons though, so it seems rather suspect that he's so cavalier with him. Ah well, at least he didn't try to spare this one...
Why would Goku care if a prick like Vegeta died? He outright said he hated him and maintained he deserved death after the fact.

So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

If you want to go by the anime, no one seem to know who Vegeta was despite the fact that the battle against the Z fighters and Nappa was shown on TV worldwide.Eternal Super Saiyan wrote:How did everyone forget who Goku was... If Goku hated Vegeta, he'd have let Krillin strike him with Yajirobe's sword... then major parts of the story would never have happened.

Re: Things that didn't make sense in-universe
Goku can teleport to Namek easily enough. When Krillin died, the Namek dragon balls were already gone and Piccolo had been hit by Freeza apparently fatally, which would also destroy the earth dragon balls. In the Buu saga, no matter what happened, as long as Namek was safe, nothing was really lost, and Namek was never in danger in the buu saga.Hades wrote:

That's filler so no one has seen Vegeta and Nappa when they invaded (no one that survived anyway).Hellspawn28 wrote:If you want to go by the anime, no one seem to know who Vegeta was despite the fact that the battle against the Z fighters and Nappa was shown on TV worldwide.Eternal Super Saiyan wrote:How did everyone forget who Goku was...
