What dub ep did you want to see more than any other (if any)

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

I wasn't too keen on that one. The Chris Sabat triple-yell and Gohan's "Super Saiyan Club" line pissed me off. I did like Goku's scene right before the 19 fight though.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

I thought the music they used in the FUNi dub was ok though.

I thought the music used from the Andoids Saga up to the Kid Buu Saga was good. The music used in the UUEs is pretty bad and the dub music for GT is just terrible.

I liked mid-late Cell Saga stuff and Buu Saga.

To be more specific, character themes and some of the BGM.

The basic BGM, even during fights, the circus music, the Spice Boys and Androids theme, anything they played in the Freeza Saga, that all pretty much failed horribly.

Oh and the first Vegeta theme, with the excessive bells, that was corny. That got cool when they threw a guitar riff in later on. And the 2nd Vegeta theme was pretty cool (the one they play during the Final Flash scene).

And for the love god, what in the hell was up with the music they play for side-character scenes?
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

 Dubs suck, the lat time I watched it was when they changed Mr. Satan's name. The only reason Funi shouldn't burn is Steve Simmon's subs.

For me I was most curious to see "Another Super Saiyan" in the dub.

Well, I can think of three parts of the dub that I was interested in seeing, so I could compare it with the Japanese. However, only one of them is an "episode."

Since I was all dubbie until after the Cell Saga aired in the US, (and I started buying Saiyaman Saga vhs's then,) I hadn't seen anything Japanese before it's dub release up until that point. I remember reading all about the Buu Saga, and then GT (and AF. *sigh*) Plus, it was incredibly easy to find Movie 8 and Movie 12 on WinMix, although the quality was often bad and Movie 8's downloads often were just the audio.

So anyway, the episode I wanted to see done most of all (and was actually pleased with) was the episode where Goku and Vegeta fused into Vegetto. (Cool! Duel voices!) Of course, I never actually saw the Japanese version beforehand. :o

Of the movies, I really wanted to see how the BIG movies of DBZ (or at least, in my mind were the biggest of the DBZ movies), Movie 8 and Movie 12, would be dubbed. I was... not as pleased with Funimation's dub of Movie 8 as I was with the original Japanese version, just to put it lightly.

But with Movie 12, I was very happy! Sure, there are parts of the movie's dialogue that doesn't make sense, but then there are parts of the dub which I actually think are better that the Japanese version. (There was one part of the Japanese dialogue that always bothered me, and they kept it silent in the dub! Woohoo! Go Funimation! :P )

Actually, I wanted to see how the entire series of GT would be done, since I was so pleased with the Italian version. But, uh... (Can't we just forget it ever happened?!)
What's scarier than a DBZ H-game?

Not all dubs fall under the same pen as FUNimation's DBZ version. Learn.

Yeah, scottdahl. Watch their dubs of FMA or Fruits Basket and you'll get the picture. It's only their dubbing of DBZ/GT that has been totally inept.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Exactly. Dubs aren't all bad, FMA's a great example (I still can't stand Ed's voice, but Al's is fucking perfect)

I gotta agree here. With an accurate and well-written script, and retaining of the original Japanese score, plus excellent voice acting is all it takes to create a perfectly dub. I mean look at the English dub of the first DBZ TV Special. With the exception of Freeza's, Nappa's, and few other character's voices, everyone else's voices were top notch. Especially Sonny Strait's Bardock voice. But unfortunately, bad scripting and the change of the score (God, I still can't get rid of that "dark techno" opening), is all that it took to turn the whole TV special into pure shit. On the other hand, take a look at the Piccolo Jr saga in Dragon Ball. Despite the fact that both Sean Schemmel and Chris Sabat continued to provide Goku's and Piccolo's voices respectively, with all those over-the-top gruntings during the fight scenes, the dub turned out to be descent nevertheless. Because it had the original Japanese score and an accurate script. In fact, just watch the original Pioneer dubs of the first three DBZ movies. They're a perfect example of how the English dubbing of Dragon Ball Z should've been handled. Unfortunately, the English versions of those movies were produced by Pioneer, and not by FUNimation. It's funny FUNi is able to do a good job with the other shows they get their hands, and screw it up, when it comes to DBZ/GT.

This is exactly what I'm talking about, a dub can be done right if you've got the right actors, a well-translated script, and the original music. When Gundam Wing aired on CN back in 2000, it was praised for being so faithful to the original. Though I generally prefer to watch something in its original language, there's nothing inherently wrong with a dub; it can be good in the hands of the right people.

I just get jealous when fans of anime that get decent or good dubs start griping. Like Naruto fans. Granted, I'm a Naruto fan myself and I prefer to watch it in japanese. The dub cast seems to be a little more hyper than the original, and the feel of the dub seems (to me) slightly different. BUT most of the voices range from top notch to decent (especially Steve Blum's Zabuza), the storyline is left the same, and the music is there. CN edition has a different opening and some content edits, but the DVD's don't have these problems. So when a Naruto fan starts griping I just have this urge to tell 'em to shut it, cuz they got it good by comparison.

I think Yu Yu Hakusho surprised me the most. That dub, I honestly adore it. My sole problem with it is the fact that Christopher Sabat voices Kuwabara, and it makes my ears bleed.
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

There's no point trying to talk reason with someone who wants to act like a small-minded, elitest troll. -_-

Back on topic, the Dr. Slump crossover in Dragon Ball. Likely we won't see Dr. Slump on tv here, so...

My favourite dub moment is when Trunks ascends to fight Cell, right after Vegeta has went unconscious and he goes all out.
