Since FUNimation really dosen't have anything to do with this, they will probley try to "piggyback" on this potential money maker. I think if FUNimation were to ever release a Blu-ray version of the series it would probley right about the time the movie comes out. If not Blu-ray then definitly "something".

Whatever they do, I still think Tim Curry or Gary Oldman would be perfect to voice Frieza.

I like that a lot of people are being very optimistic about this news. Anyway, everyone and their mother-in-law is going to watch this movie, if it comes out. People will like it, people will hate it and people will "meh" it. I don't see how it could possibly hurt the series in anyway, except creating little assholes who join message boards to complain about how much DBZ sucks. But we've got those people already. And like Xyex posted earlier, maybe we could get some cool new merchandise to go along with it.

Oh no, I'll take the 90's Chinese adaptation any day.

Let the fake movie trailers begin (Preferably WITHOUT the Human Torch giving away the fakeness).

*eats his worms*
After being someone who's seen a ton of adaptions turned live-action film that ended up tanking horribly, I wouldn't dump on us that don't approve of this.
Yeah, it's a fanboy's wet dream come true. But after a history of this crap never turning out to be so good, you can only imagine why we're not exactly jumping for joy. :s

Maybe it's the fact that I've pretty much grown up with the rumors since the beginning of my fandom, but... I have to say that I'm happy it's finally coming out.
Though, I'm worried it'll suck, but, I mean, you never know. I never would've thought that Transformers could be done, and actually look believable. Same goes for any of the recent Marvel movies.
They'll have to take some extreme liberties (Like, no crazy, huge hair), but, you never know, it could be as good as X-Men.

I'm finding this really hard to believe. Another addition is the contrast in lack of information regarding the shoot, whereas the other two movie projects at least list some details. Plus, it's supposed to start shooting. So a good amount of things (Like script for one) have been done. So why no info on that?

Oh c'mon! We already apologised for Bryan Adams!
Anywho as for the movie.... I'm biased as part of the anti-DBZ movie idea. I mean I know some comics made into live action have done well, others really sucked. Even franchises based off comics started off well they ended up royally sucking at some point (Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, etc). Dragonball was made into a live action movie once and despite it's cult value for it's campiness it just couldn't be taken seriously. Dragonball should NEVER be made into a live action film.

Unlike a lot, I am psyched for this movie. If it sucks, oh well. Who cares, as long as there's no DragonBall coming to us. Even if it is American made.

I'm not bouncing off the walls over this but I'm willing to hold off judgement until I at least see a teaser trailer.

oh. my. GODS.
this is huge. this is fucking huge. wow. so many things to think about! my head is still...reeeling. They're really doing this? They could do it right! They could!
It is a bit problematic for me, to begin with the Saiya-jin arc, but man. I can't possibly get down over this. It's fucking Dragon Ball! Although plenty of emotionally-grounded superhero flicks have crumbled under studio pressure (Spider-Man 3), and there will be plenty of it here, I'm just so damn interested to see what direction the powers that be want to take it.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I fucking hated all the new superhero movies. This movie's going to be a complete cock-up. I'm not saying I can't be pleased with a live action DBZ, I'm just being realistic. I'm going to fucking complain about this until those responsible for it die.

I can't see this being anything but good news for the franchise. Hell, look at Transformers. It's a hot property again because of a blockbuster movie. This will only help in the long run.
Hey, I entirely forgot I had an account here. AGAIN.

I'm not believing it until I see it, but this is good news. I have been all for a Dragonball Z live action film since the rumors began. After Transformers was released, a movie based on an action figure, I was even more convinced that a Draqgonball Z movie should be made. I hope they give it a cool second title. When the rumors were in full swing, it was said that it was to be called "Dragonball Z: The Fight for Man Kind". I think that's a wonderful title.
I crave more definate info, but this is looking good. I'm sure I'll become more and more pumped as time goes on. I fully support it.

Transformers is now inexplicably linked to an awful shit-fisted 'action' movie that was apparently about robots fighting each other, but included way too many retarded humans. The Transformers movie from '86 -
that was a Transformers movie; this new one is shit. Utter, fucking, shit. I defy anyone to say that the new movie has any redeeming qualities. Any. I dare you.
