Another comparison. Going by this, he's practically the same height as Vegeta.

Does 5'7 for Goku feel off to anyone else?I mean he towers over all the regular people at the tournaments.

I think it's the one with King Cold and Freeza.
King Cold is that large in the manga, too. They same shots exist in the manga.
Yep, 4th Form Freeza's about knee to mid-thigh high compared to Cold.

I laugh at that statement, more often then not they've made Vegeta as tall as Goku, when we all know he is not.

I trust "realistically" drawn manga chapter covers (such as the one I posted) over random manga panels and anime screens. While manga panels often are quickly drawn, their realistic chapter covers are more reliable because the artist took more time to plan it out and draw it. Sometimes with panels you can tell that Toriyama hasn't even used basic shapes or eyelines, it's a quick job therefore less accurate. I trust that scan I posted on the previous page.

5'7 seems right to me.
It's possible everyone else is just short.

I'd be 7 inches taller than Goku.

I've read a few different sources from the Beckett to Manga's to watching the series and personally most have concluded that Vegeta was approximately 5' 4 to that of 5' 6. However Goku was given two variations as well from 5' 7 to 5' 9. So really its anyone's guess in my opinion to how tall they really are. I would have to say though that Vegeta being about 5' 5 sounds reasonably right. Of course this is going on 8 years of really studying and comparing information through different things.

Yes, but you're not Japanese. (At least, I don't think so. XD) Average height for guys in the US is around 5 foot 10 to 6 foot now. Average height in Japan when Dragonball was made was around 5 foot 5.

No I'm not Japanese, but there were a couple reliable sources (Beckett, Shoenen Jump) that stated 5' 5 for Vegeta and 5' 7 or 5' 9 for Goku. However taking that into account, Frieza is actually a little shorter than Vegeta, most likely placing Frieza at 5' 3 or 5' 4. Still very much in the realm of what the average height is to that of even the Japanese individuals if you want to take it that way.

No, Beckett is not reliable. I highly suggest you never trust, nor source, any of its information. Ever. I'd suggest them for use in the fireplace but I'm sure the fumes would likely be toxic. >>

I could go on about why I even cited the Beckett a couple times, and you know, part of me feels its not worth it. I don't cite that unless it has been THOROUGHLY cross referenced and the particular fact found to be truth. I'm not saying the entire thing is true. It just gives people another source to look at, but yes I do agree, it has to be done CAREFULLY. I have referenced many things in the Beckett and found a bit to be false and therefore do not take that to consideration. Only information that is found in other sources, like that of SJ, the mangas, ect...

So in note to those that want to reference the Beckett, be sure to cross it with other sources as well, do not take the full thing to truth but there is some in there that maybe people are missing. Hmm....just thoughts. But then isn't that what any of this is? Just thoughts?

You're not referencing Beckett at that point, you're referencing those other sources. Which is good - Becket has no hold as a reliable source.
