You won't get any help from us, for one of countless reasons, it's against the rules of this message board to talk of bootlegs/downloads in this manner. I will say, you may get lots of disdain from Mike/EX and others here like myself, whom spent our hard-earned money on the FUNi or Toei releases. Downloading something that's so legally available and casually talking of it like it's not a problem is a spit in the faces to all of us, FUNimation (whom did give us good DVDs for this series), Toei, and even Akira Toriyama who all worked on and/or put money into this series.
I think you're taking it a bit personally, Conan - he just has a different set of capitalist values, he's not saying anything bad about you for putting out money for the series; though you are implying he's doing such things simply to spite the fanbase (and thus, implying he's not part of it, not a fan at all).

I'd love to get into the whole legal/moral/bootlegs/fansubs/filesharing debate again, but I'm on vacation.

Hisham, if you want it you can find it - Mike's made it clear he wants no discussion of where to find it n the boards, and I think we can all leave it at that.

I totally respect wat youre saying Conan the SSJ, but its as Victator Supreme says, for me, I dont think downloading is the worst thing you can do, considering all the other things going on around the globe(african childrens dying as we speak, war in iraq etc etc.

I'm sorry desirecampbell I didnt mean to start a discussion..

Thanks for understanding my opinion of the small debate we just had.

Hope you have a nice vacation:)..

Sure, it's not as bad as buying a bootleg (refer to that thread for further deatails>>) but that doesn't mean it's some simple harmless thing. You do realize that the anime industry is struggling to make any kind of profits, yes? Because everyone's going "Oh, why buy when I can get it for free!" and not purchasing these shows they 'love' so much money is being lost more than made.

And just because something is a 'lesser' crime doesn't mean it's not a crime. Attempted murder still gets you in a hell of a lot of trouble, even though you didn't actually kill anyone.

Personally, I'm all for banning anyone who asks for or provides fansub downloads. >>

No, I didnt not know that, glad you told me.

But I cant buy wat i cant afford. And when I cant afford to buy the show, the only option for me thats left is to download. Belive me if I had the money i would buy, this is not just something I'm saying, I really cant afford to buy the cdes.

I know what I'm doing is wrong, belive me i do, but I really dont have any other potions.

I wouldnt be suprised, if you suddenly banned me..After all I am nothing less then a simple thief..

It's good that your not denying it, but there are other options.

-Toonami Jetstream offers streaming Dragonball episodes twice a day for free and it's 100% legal.
-Also, Netflix is a great way to easily rent nearly any American Dragonball DVD from your computer for extremely cheap (as low as 5$ a month).
-You can also rent the DVD's from local retailers like Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, ect if that's easier.
-Many public libraries (well, mine at least) offer free rentals of Dragonball Z movies and since it's free I think it's worth driving around for a while to find a library that does hold them.

Just remember, there's always another option than stealing.

If that's the only thing keeping you from getting the releases, my simple suggestion; try getting a job if you don't already have one and gradually save up any spare money you can. Believe me, FUNi's GT saga sets will be out for a while, as will the new season sets that'll come soon, so time isn't against you. You seem like an alright kind of person, from the limited amount of posts I've seen, hence why I didn't go sending ya' an insult-filled PM or something. I hope you take my advice, if not, oh well and that's your call.

Was it just me or did the Para-Para Bros. scream GT version of the Ginyu force?

Do you realize that anime is that the cheapest level its ever been in America right? The Japanese have to pay an arm, leg, and liver for almost nothing when it comes to anime. A friend of mines that lives in the Japan says that she can't afford to buy anime because that's a luxury. Keep in mind that the Japanese don't get boxsets from my understanding either.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Just a little something to put this into perspective. Right now Dragonball Z volume 10 costs 3,990 yen. That is roughly $36.93 dollars. http://www.amazon.co.jp/DRAGON-BALL-Z-% ... 613&sr=8-4 This DVD contains six episodes from the series. Now compare that to the price of an American DVD and be thankful. Just think of the poor Japanese people the next time you complain about DVDs being too expensive. It makes me think about the early days of Anime in America. They used to charge us $45 dollars for a TAPE with TWO episodes on it! Sorry, I'm gonna get off on a tangent. I guess the message here is be thankful. Things could be a whole lot worse.

Keep in mind that the Japanese download frequently, too.

Dude, wasn't this thread supposed to be about Dragonball GT? Aren't there already places on this forum to discuss our views on downloading/bootleging?

I thought the Para Para brothers were the best friggin' thing about GT.
I haven't watched much of GT much less the dub of GT but did they keep their name as the Para Para brothers in the Funi dub? Seems to me they would change the Japanese name to something more English like " The Groove Groove Brothers" for example.

Their names are the same, and they're still awesome.
