I would never understand how Videl ranked even below Yajirobe, I thought Japan liked her, Karin ranking better than Cell is surely funny.

If there is ever a DBS poll I dont think Goku would solo it easily like in the previous polls, Mirai Trunks might take the Number 1 Spot(Japan liked his Genkidama mode thus explaining why the amount of income DBS has done last year).

I do hope Toriyama stays on post EoZ, I would like to see what he does there instead of passing the rains on to Toei/Shueisha again.

Passing the reigns on Toei/Shueisha should mean Toyotaro would be the main writer, its likely for the best, so we will get no more Roshi being God tier level, Pilaf Gang, generic antagonists,Buu getting trolled for the 140342342394th time etc .

You honestly think Toyo will have a say in anything? He's gonna a pawn for Shueisha, it's gonna be like typical Hollywood when an indy director gets tasked with a big franchise but it's essentially a studio film and the director is then the scapegoat when all fails. When Toriyama leaves Super will be chaos, getting ready for SSGSS Bardock!

Besides Toyo has shown nothing but sloppy writing since half way through the U6 arc I don't think he's up to the task anyway, he'd probably make every Saiyan SSG permanent.

As much as I like Toyotaro and consider his manga the saving grace of super, he is a newbie and is absolutely not ready to take on the franchise, he will screw it up with fanfiction everywhere..

But, him being there won't be as bad as toie going solo, now that will produce something horrible

They really need to do a new poll like this. In this one Goten is ahead of Krillin, Majin Buu and Freeza. If this poll was made now I'm betting Goten would not be anywhere near the top.

Really just puts into perspective how Goten used to be popular due to the Buu saga and Movies 10-12 and the 2008 special till he got screwed over and forgotten. Also how the hell is Karin ahead of Roshi, Cell, Yamcha and Tien? People really like him that much?

A fan talking the reigns over a franchise is never a good thing, they will lack all types of objectivity and you said writing skills is a big thing and with his only background is fan Manga and his official work as been basically promotional stuff is that really enough to take over the franchise. (Chris Stuckmann is a good example a famous YT movie reviewer/fanboy who tried to fix BvS fight script but in turn was one of the most embarrassing things to read to the point he had to make a response video admitting there was a reason he wasn't a screen writer...)
In my opinion Toyo has shown some potential but I think if he got other professional work outside of Dragon Ball it would greatly help him develop his skills much better, out your comfort zone and all that and seeing how you cope! Once he has proved himself a capable writer elsewhere only then I maybe wouldn't be adverse to him talking over.

What the series needs post Toriyama (if there is one), is someone who has the knowledge or is willing to study and acquire the knowledge of the series and characters but are able to be objective and thus able to tell the best story possible.

Can people please stop throwing around the "fan-fiction adjective". If there's something wrong with Toei's or Toyotarõ's or anyone else's work, be specific about it.
I'll be blatant, when I read the fan fiction criticism I see it as empty for the sake of bad mouthing while appearing to say something.

Also, in my opinion having any standards regarding any premises Dragon Ball throws at us is ridiculous. Dragon Ball is literally full of silliness and insane ideas. Seriously look at it from outside looking in. Execution is what matters, not the idea itself.

Roshi being stronger than Tenshinhan is probably part of Toriyama outline, Toriyama said Roshi was "as strong as he wanted".

Naho Ooishi Yo Son Goku and Friends is back manga chapters were fine, it didnt have the filler the OVA had like Goten/Trunks struggling vs Abo and Cado.

Toei also gave us Anime Black, which out to be an entertaining villain, considering the expectations were low, fans were expecting Black to be another Turles.
