I was just talking about the "Z" portion being made in 1989. Since I tend to view the anime differently.
I know, I was just throwing in some more detail "for your information" - no harm meant. I'm just all hyped up and out to answer questions. A little sick, a little wired.

Also - this is the completely wrong thread for a conversation! :P

So back to conversation, can anyone find a shot that actually looks good on the season sets? The opening animation looked pretty good.

In fact I haven't seen much of how the Dragonbox version of the original DB look in comparison to Funi's releases.
Be grateful the filler in Dragon Ball doesn't suck like the 3rd arc of Rurouni Kenshin.

Sorry for the double post but. I was wondering also if the endings had been resolved with Season 2's japanese credits. Because season 1 had the same credits because Funi thought we didn't know how to read japanese.

But guess that's because no one would actually bother to compare something that would be non-slanderous toward the season set and does nothing but make it look terrible! God forbid someone actually making the Season Sets look good!
Making shit look like shit is surprisingly easy. Besides, slander, by definition, is when you make false statements in a verbal manner. Hence, these comparisons would be libel since they're in writing (or perhaps they'd be considered defamation, denigration, etc.) against FUNimation...plus, you know, it'd have to be false and it's kinda hard to contest lossless pictures :P

Aside from that, what's your excuse? If you think there's some great advantage to these sets that...err, the entire anime community that has standards is missing, put the discs in your DVD drive and snap us some pictures. A picture is worth 1000 words and all that shit.

Yeah, after multiple problems that sidelined my review, the very server I was using crashed permanently. The pictures, and a good number of personal files, were lost. I can re-capture them, if you want. I've just tired of the subject ;p

I don't blame you. But I think they are a good resource to have for people who may not know the difference yet. And there a ton of people like this out there... I don't necessarily take an evangelist's approach to it, but since FUNi isn't giving out the facts, somebody should.

Re-capture if you want. I always thought they were interesting.

Fair enough. I'm actually mucking with my DragonBox discs and could stand to snap some pics from them and the FUNi releases. I just won't make any timetables, since I tend to suck at adhering to them ;p
