Since it is going to mainly be CG I guess the idea was to include at least one good hand drawn scene. He's also going to be working on Disk Wars: Avengers, which is probably ending in March, so I'm not surprised.Chuquita wrote:Read Toei assigned Shida on this March's Precure All Stars movie instead. Eighth?) where there's so many characters it's impossible to fairly allot screentime.
Why are you doing this, Toei? That movie is going to be mainly cgi this time anyway.
I can forgive if it was Shida's choice to work on All Stars instead of F, but if it's Toei who chose, I'm disappointed.

I understand, but it's still disheartening.
When I looked at the second BOG trailer the other day, a good chunk of it was parts of Shida's cuts.
They can't fool viewers into thinking the whole movie looks like that now, at least. ^^;
Not that I think it fooled anyone, I don't know how Toei well be able to make a good trailer for F without him.

It depends heavily on who is involved with the movie. Hamano Yuu'ichi might be involved and he is known for good work. Of course, he might also not be involved and the film will look decidedly not good at all. The lack of strong core staff is worrisome.Chuquita wrote:I understand, but it's still disheartening.![]()

Are you sure? I've literally very recently been watching these episodes, and there wasn't a single instance of Grand Supreme Kai that I recall. He was consistently called Dai-Kaio.fadeddreams5 wrote: Yeah, in the anime dub, he's referred to as the Grand Supreme Kai, but in one scene, he's referred as Dai Kaio. Mistake in their part. This claim is only made in Viz's translation.rereboy wrote:He says that no one can defeat him ... even if they struggle, they can't resist Enma because they have no bodies and Enma has the power to judge them.Regarder wrote:Enma Daio overpowers Raditz, so it might be more complicated than that.

Do need to keep in mind that, given this film is supposed to be 3yrs after BoG, then even if Bura were to be added to it, she'd only be 2yrs old and Pan would still be 3yrs old. There isn't really much they could add besides just confirming they exist.

As part of that explanation, Piccolo says Vegeta will go to a "different place" than Goku after he dies, where all that soul-cleaning/memory-wiping will occur before he's reincarnated. He doesn't use the name "Hell", but presumably that's what he's talking about, since that's pretty much how Buddhist Hell works. It's not eternal like the standard Christian depiction of Hell, but rather people are just punished long enough to be purified and reincarnated (though there is supposed to be a special Eternal Hell for super bad people). So it's a typical element of the afterlife in the surrounding culture that Toriyama naturally threw into DB, along with Enma Daio and the oni (and Hell's lake of blood and mountain of needles repeatedly shown in the anime). Anyway, while Hell isn't named during Piccolo's chat with Vegeta, that guide oni that escorts Goku to the Serpent Road does explain that Hell is right underneath the road, and in the Boo arc Goku tells Babidi that he'll ask Enma to make sure Babidi has it extra tough when he goes to Hell. So it's explicitly mentioned as a thing a few times in the manga. Also worth noting that in Viz's early DBZ volumes they often translate anoyo/afterlife as "Hell" in places it doesn't quite fit (repeatedly describing Goku as "training in Hell" rather than "training in the afterlife" like in the original), apparently just to flaunt their ability to use the actual word "Hell", which the Funi dub at the time notoriously had to dance around with HFIL.JamesOwnz wrote:See that's where I'm confused...
When Vegeta is about to die vs Buu Piccolo tells him he won't see Goku in the after life and that his soul will simply be cleaned and born again into someone else and all of his memories will be gone.
It's true that the obvious intent of that whole bit is to hype up Enma as super strong by showing that he could take down Raditz (the strongest character Goku had ever fought at that point), but I suppose that strictly speaking Enma could have just subdued Raditz's bodiless spirit. Enma might not go out of his way to explain "oh, Raditz was just a powerless spirit by then, so me stopping him was no big deal", but he's also pretty matter-of-fact about the whole thing, and doesn't really brag about it like he does in Viz. So I think the scene avoids being explicitly contradictory, just barely.FatNagger69 wrote:The original claim made is that he overpowered Raditz.

Of course, since Enma crossed the Serpent Road and trained under Kaio, he probably would be strong enough to beat the living Raditz easily enough (as long as there aren't any full moons in the afterlife). It might not be a coincidence that it's not until Cell dies that it's flat-out explained that "bad guys like Cell" don't keep their bodies after they die. Enma's said to be weaker than Kaio, so he should be outclassed by all the bad guys from Nappa on up, but he also drops out of the story after that initial scene when Goku first dies (apart from appearance when Goku returns from Kaio's). So you can kind of ignore the issue of what happens to all those super-strong dead bad guys. Near the end of the Cell Games though, Kaio realizes that Cell must still be alive because he's not on his way to Enma's, where all the dead must go for judgment. Which directly brings up the question of how Enma's supposed to deal with a dead Cell, hence Goku's comment during his big farewell speech that "bad guys like Cell" don't have bodies in the afterlife.

BOG was in 778. Pan is born in 779 and Bra in 780. IF ROF actually takes places in 781, Bra would be 1 and Pan would be 2, depending entirely on when the events happen and when they were actually born....Zelvin wrote:Do need to keep in mind that, given this film is supposed to be 3yrs after BoG, then even if Bura were to be added to it, she'd only be 2yrs old and Pan would still be 3yrs old. Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Goku grew to be an adult sometime between age 15 and age 18. It could have been later in the year while he was 15, but I think it's a safer bet to say sometime between 16 and 18. Since Goten and Trunks seem to be following this growth pattern, that would make their growth sometime between 782-784 for Trunks and 783-785 for Goten. Though both were adult size in May of 784, so I think 783 is probably the best year for it to happen (that way they can both sprout up together instead of making things weird).Careless Saiyajin wrote:I hope it's as late as it can fit in to justify Goten and Trunks being as tall as can be excused for.
Though this is just based on a single past example and Toriyama can of course do whatever he wants.

All of that sounds rift but most of all I will remember that last part about how Toriyama does whatever he wants haha. I'd say my wish of tall Goten and trunks as you pointed out could happen in this movie depending on time and what not but perhaps is clearly not guaranteed.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Goku grew to be an adult sometime between age 15 and age 18. Well maybe Toriyama forgot Bra exists...
But seriously, if he wants to keep doing movies is about time to review his own series. He doesn't need to read everything just the basic stuff to make the plot work.
In BOG, Kaio having his planet back and Gohan turning ssj are both acceptable to me, because both are possible things.
But characters like Goten, Trunks and Marron remain the same for 5 years is not.
Timeline wise, Goku said to Bulma in EOZ that they didn't meet eatch other for 5 years (so BOG fits here perfectly)
Now in the new movie that takes place 3 years after supposedly, if they meet each other will be just another error.
Add this to characters not getting older and Bra absence, and the list just gets bigger unnecessary.

As per my discussion with Careless Saiyan right above, Goten and Trunks staying child size is perfectly reasonable. We may not like it, but it does fit with an established growth pattern that they seem to be following.
Marron on the other hand? She's a human, so she probably should be much taller by then...but her dad WAS still a midget in DB till he was like 16. So I dunno.

Right, like you said under certain conditions it could literally go either way depending on the exact time and still work. However, I haven't really thought about Marron all that much.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:As per my discussion with Careless Saiyan right above, Goten and Trunks staying child size is perfectly reasonable.
