Yeah! Actually I'm not really a fan of One Piece so I really want to get it for some DBZ vs. Naruto battles.

I personally love all 3. I just got into the One Piece anime about a week or two ago. It's like crack in anime form.

Well, I probably won't really be playing with Naruto characters at all in my first days, thus probably not unlocking any new ones. So that is why.

I actually prefer One Piece over Naruto, back when I used to be fansub-download-happy I ended up spending more system resources and data transfer on my One Piece fix from Kaizoku Fansubs. It's probably my favourite Anime at the moment, with the exeption of Dragonball/Z/GT which I don't consider to be current.

It's such a crying shame that 4Kids had to pick up the rights, I could have forseen a bad dub but not one nearly as poor as the filth they ended up churning out.

Patience is a virtue. >.>;; You've been waiting since the game was announced, a few days/weeks more or less won't make a difference.

I have a question. Will my PS2 play japanese imported games? If not then how did you guys get to play them? Have you chipped the console?

You have to get it modded or get a new top where you can flip it open to put a disc in. Or you can use the slide card.

I am getting it for GCN, go freeloader~

I am also hearing the load time for PS2 is bad and that it has froze on people already. Yay for GCN~

Play-Asia also seems to be preparing to ship the GCN versions. They don't have the PS2 copies in stock yet.

Alright! Looks like I'll be getting this game sooner than I thought!

I can't believe there's a possibility of more than 20 characters for this game..that's pretty cool.

UPDATE: As mentioned earlier it looks like Cell is indeed one of the 2 hidden characters

Another UPDATE: My copy has just been shipped today (& probably for most others that pre-ordered at "Play-Asia"). I'm expecting it this Saturday-Tuesday period of time, I'll give a little review as expected after playing it for considerable amount of time.

Play-asia are hosting the intro movie and a few gameplay movies for download.

Intro

Gameplay 1

Gameplay 2

I knew this game would be similar to Smash Brothers, but it looks near identical when you see it in action. Not that it's a bad thing.

Love the intro theme, i hope it gets a single CD release like the ones for the Budokai series did.

Where on Play-Asia's site do they link to these items? I don't want to directly-link media files in my update.

EDIT: Nevermind. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-17-71-3-74-154-49-en.html

Fighting Buu on Hard mode is a pain in the ass!

Looks like those 2 ? spots were for Buu and Cell. No other characters in sight at all. This is a good game though.

I still hate slots.

Any questions, just ask.

Two Questions here

*Is the gameplay better/different than the likes of Super DBZ or (since these are 2 different games) which gameplay do you prefer?

*Also judging by the menu screens & videos from Play-Asia, it seems they have put some english captions? So does that mean this game is easy to follow for non Japanese readers?

I prefer this because it is more like Smash Bros. No sign of being able to wave dash though, I gotta experiment more for that stuff.

Well, three options will like say Battle. What type of battle isn't specified in english. As soon as my friends and I heard mina...something something for one of the Battle options, we knew that was multiplayer. There is some stuff that is hard to follow for the non-japanese speakers/readers... like what the hell did I just win in the slots.

Ok, cool.
*How are the controls (For the GameCube version anyways)?
*Is the gameplay easy to follow/learn?
*What are the three different battle options and what are the features in the game?

The controls are responsive.
It takes some time getting used to each character.
The options are...
Story Mode (says Battle in english)
Survival (says Survival in english)
Time Challenge (says Time Attack in english)
Practive (says Practice in english)
Vs. (says Battle in English)
Some mode that lets you use shit that you get in the slots (says Battle in English)
Options (says Options in english)
and Gallery (says Gallery in English)

You unlock characters and levels... through slots
