I haven't read the pages myself, but I hear it's full of errors about Toriyama, and an error like the Z in DBZ means "Zwei" (0.o)...
So yeah, nothing great.

Nope, no it's not. It really is just a crappier version of what's on children's websites. ^_^;;

sangofe: Thanks! I can't believe they managed 90+ pages of that crap.

New delays... and new price; it's jumped up again.
Now the question is: will those who ordered it for 30€ still get it at that price?
Only time will tell... but alapage has cancelled pre-orders before when price's rosen.

Of course it's not cancelled, it's still getting released, I can confirm that, no worries.
However, it's delayed until late August.
And the price has changed...
It's jumped to 79.99€ PVP, or 65.99 on discountmanga.com

Right on my birthday. Perhaps I should get this. I mean, it pretty much IS a Movies Dragon Box minus the packaging, scouters and dragonbook, right?

The last 3 images look pretty crisper than usual. Even the packaging in general is nice.

It looks like they might have reversed the picture with Goku kicking, but his "Kame" symbol is on the right side, so... yeah. My only complaint with the box/disc art is that you can tell that the character pictures are drawn by different people. I'm pretty sure the Goku firing a Kamehameha on the box is from the manga, while the chibi Goku firing the Kamehameha is from the Daizenshuu. Inconsistent? Yep. Still awesome? Looks like it.

But the real question (I guess) would be the actual quality of the discs. So yeah, Dragon Box comparisons would be nice :D.

Yeesh, the Bardock special looks like hell. And the macroblocking doesn't help it much.

The Dragon Ball movie and "Dead Zone" look okay, though, slightly blown out contrast on "Dead Zone" aside. Looks like we got us some laserdisc masters here.

Very cool. I'd like to see some DBox comparisons, because I might get this, considering the Movie DBox is incredibly hard to find.

I was thinking that too, particularly since the images look letterboxed while still 720x576 (IE, they don't seem to have been edited).

Are they really letterboxed, or were those added?

Movie 2 is "The Ice Robot"? Fuck, that's terrible.

I'll grab some shots from the movies dbox now.
It's even funnier if you read it literally. "The Robot of Ice"... hmm... I wonder what would happen if we dragged Dr. Wheelo out into the sunlight...
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

Well, literally, it's "Ices", plural. Which is even more retarded.

And here's another shot spliced with the 'Des Films' footage. I had to stretch the French shot horizontally so it would fit.

Though, I must say, the box itself looks awesome.

Oh, just realized all the previous caps I've taken of my dbox were in 'Vivid' mode (damn you PowerDVD!). These shots, though are all original colour.

And I'd gte shots for that DB movie too, but I don't know which one it is, or any indication when the shots are taken :P

Haha! Score one for myself. :) I knew these movies would be letterboxed. Quality is definitely a lot better on the Italian discs that I referenced earlier in the thread, just wish I still had them to do some screen caps. Looking at the screenies, it's definitely been DVNR'd. Not as bad as the FUNi DVD's though.

Anyway, I'm glad to see the French getting some bilingual DVD's. The footage may not be so great, but the packaging sure beats out the Dragon Box.

I've put together pictures and information into first thread.

When I get my own set, I will do more in depth comparing with Dragonbox and the French set, as I'll own both (whenever that will be, since I'm unsure if I have to re-order it since the site I ordered from canceled certain orders when the price jump happened, but I didn't get any notice about it, so I'm hoping to still get mine for 30 Euro).

Do you happen to know where to get all those italien dvds?
(/me is thinking about how sexy it would be to combine the image from these with content of his own incoming french set :d)
