The dialogue does not sound very natural to me.

Sorry, guys. I'm not liking it.

Well, what can I say? We're not pros at this, or anything. It's just for fun.

Sorry if you're dissapointed, though.

Kaboom needs to get a few precious days off in a row to get things moving again, that's what. Which he has not.

Seriously, first chance I get to spend an afternoon organizing and stuff, I will.

Well, this project is kaput. At least, as far as it concerns me.

It would seem the early-page naysayers were right. Figuratively, the project has been steadily losing HP, and now no amount of Revives will recover it from it's FNT status. All but a few people have ended up either losing interest, lacking time or resources (like me), or just disappearing altogether.

I thought that, once the semester was over, I would have all this extra free time to dedicate to my various projects, especially this. I imagined bright sunny days, lounging in my room with the windows open, a cool breeze blowing in. My dog would be snoozing next to my bed, on which I would be sitting while drawing, jotting down ideas for chapter 20-something of my fanfic, and every once in a while checking for messages where people weren't quite sure on what sort of tone they were supposed to take while recording this one line, and were asking for opinions. I'd take a few minutes to listen, reply with a good answer, give some tips, and maybe even include an example recording of myself for good measure. An external HD would be sitting neatly next to my laptop, being accessed externally by the Video editors via FTP, as it held the DragonBox footage, as well as my various in-progress AMVs.

Sweet sassy molassy, have I been smoking crack in my sleep, or something?

I first brought up the idea of a fandub in, what, November? Things looked bright; people were excited both in terms of voice acting and other contributions, we quickly picked a movie, a name, assigned jobs, etc...

But here it is, 8 months later, and essentially all we have to show for it are a voice cast picked out, and a trailer, the latter of which only happened because I put it in the hands of someone who apparently happened to have enough time and enthusiasm to get it put together. And I was naive to begin with, but even I know that holding auditions and getting a voice cast picked out is not only a small deal, but means squat when nothing else is happening. I still have no idea how to set up an FTP server, I haven't gotten one freaking hour to myself to just sit down and combine my script with Shinpan's, which she gave me months ago, and I don't even have a spare $80 to go pick up Sony Vegas. We couldn't even manage to get just three people to work together to make a finished poster.

Even still, some insane part of me still thought that, come the summer, I would have enough time and resources to get it all back up and running again.

But no; apparently, my summer will be spent cleaning up after fat, messy brats and their oh-so-responsible parents at the theater, cleaning up my dad's messes in that God-forsaken illegitimate crackbaby of a trash dumb and a trailer park we call a "yard," harassing the head of Financial Aid at my college to get my freaking stafford loan back in line, and taking Soo Bahk Do lessons, that last one being the only thing I actually have any anticipation for.

That doesn't leave any room for personal projects. Something's gotta go. Might as well drop the one no one else seems to give a shit about.

For those of you who have ended up losing interest, then I'm sorry to have wasted your time. For those few of who were still enthusiastic about it, then I'm especially sorry to have both wasted your time and gotten your hopes up.

If anyone else really wants the project to continue, then they're free to take up the reigns, so to speak. But I realize that, at this point, the project was 95% relying on me, the director, and I'm just plain not capable of putting in the time and effort.

So that's it. As of now, I'm stepping down and out, and abandoning this project. I'm finished. What happens next is up to someone else.

But I'm sure you'd all rather just get back to your bitching and moaning over whatever sin against God FUNimation's putting out this week.

It was a fun dream for a while. Sad the plug's been pulled (I didn't even get a chance to do any lines XD ) but hey it was enjoyable while it lasted.

Maybe we should've done an episode instead?
On hiatus.

I'm actually very surprised you're giving up on this, Kaboom. Also, I'll have you know many of us did care about this and looked forward to doing our own accurate dub (myself, Kino, Rick, Chuquita, among various others). I for one have a very busy summer ahead, so it isn't like I can even attempt to take up where you left off, but that doesn't mean I'm not let down somewhat. After 44 pages of a single thread, a lengthy cast audition, and even the trailer of my own doing; now the project is just kaput. I'm in no way trying to guilt-trip ya' or anything, just saying it how it is, it's a shame this project's been impromptuly flushed down the drain. All though, maybe Chuquita's right, perhaps an episode would be easier, I for one would love to lend a hand in the driving school episode if anything. As of now though, R.I.P. Battle for Earth.

Shall I take the trailer off YouTube?

Well, perhaps my comment you quoted was a bit harsh of me. But like I said, it's only a very few of us (yourself included) that were still even slightly enthusiastic about it.

Overall, it's just a matter of my being unable to continue directing. Circumstances just aren't allowing me to put in the required time, effort, and resources. If someone else wants to take over and try to continue, fine, be my guest. But it's reached such an incredibly slow point, with so little being done, that I honestly think it's better to put this on the shelf and move on to other things.

Oh, and no need to remove the trailer; it's perfectly fine and good.

Canceled projects makes Desire sad. :'(

I wish I could help but I'm pretty busy too. I have too many projects on the go already, and I don't have the expertise for any of this video-stuff. I'd offer my services, but they aren't quite up to par.

If anyone can find a use for me, I'd be glad to lend a hand, but as it is I don't think I stop the ship from sinking.

:'(

:(

Just when we were so close too.

Well, Kaboom, if you'd like, I can take the director's chair for you. I'm not so busy, and I've got some good ideas regarding our current progress and voice acting/editing, which hopefully can be implemented =P

Just depends if everyone's still in this.

Up to you, bro. But I can't direct anymore. Too much to do, no time or resources to do it.

That's all right.
But can you at least, stay on as co-director, or just offer your services if needed? That external HD might be useful =D

"That external HD" is a steadily fading fantasy, I'm afraid.

If somehow the project does continue, then I'll contribute here and there if I can. But I really want to distance myself from this, I think.

..*sigh* Ok, if you must. :(

All right, before I start, I want to know this. How many are still willing to contribute? Does everyone still want in this?

If there is any way this 13-year-old who is not well versed in the video coding or VAing area, please let me know. It would be a damn shame to lose such an intersting project.
EDIT: Kaboom, your sig fits the situation IMO XED.

Well, if there's any VAs who have jumped ship, I'd be willing to try out. (I didn't make my glorious return to Daizex until after casting was done. :P)

If we're still going to do this I'm still in for it. I have a part-time job but my option of taking a summer course got flushed down the drain due to a shortage of english teachers at my school.

I'm still in for my roles of Yamcha and Oozaru-Gohan. All though, due to my own busy summer ahead, not much more I can contribute to the project beyond voicing.
