Well I'm still happy to help out however I can, school is school and I have two weeks study leave to help however I can... even if it means spending hours I'd be doing shit all anyway.

So to the new director (if any) I'm still here and ready to serve!

How could you resign, Kaboom? How could you? In all seriousness, I'm actually on the verge of crying...

I genuinely believed we would finish this. I've been working on the music part of it almost every day now- and I'm also an extremely busy guy.

This project was the only reason I stayed here, at DaizEX. Now... there's no reason to stay anymore... Tori Bot's gone... Chibi G's gone... and now you're giving up on the project.

Well, I guess this'll be my last post.

*packs bags*

...

*walks out the door*

...

NO!

It ain't over 'til it's over.

Stop whining like a PATHETIC BITCH, Kaboom! Pick yourself back up! Things may be gettin' rough, but that's no excuse to just give up. Nothing great was ever achieved when people just 'gave up' when the going got tough. Cowards quit and that ain't you! The difference between failures and winners is that winners have ferocious persistence and they never let go of their goals. These people are like bulldogs that refuse to release their teeth-hold on a bone. The harder you try to pull the bone out of his mouth, the harder the dog chomps down with a vice-like grip.

However, wimps and failures give up very easily after hitting the first obstacle they encounter.

I know talk like this seems kinda strange when referring to a fandub, but it can be applied to more than just that. It can be applied to anything. What if you get a D in your exam? Are you just gonna give up, then wallow in self-pity and regret? Or are you going to dedicate yourself to studying everyday- so that you can kick that exam's butt next time 'round?!

*Slaps Kaboom*

Now, snap out of it you stupid son-of-a-bitch! This project's here to stay. BELIEVE you can do it, and have an unflagging persistence. Just because this thread isn't getting posted in doesn't mean people ain't working on the project. Now, stop with the silly belief that it's 'dead', and get in REGULAR contact with the cast to show them it ain't dead.

Okay, I'm about 75% convinced to continue.

If I do, I'm gonna need a lot of help.

75% isn't good enough. If there's any doubt whatsoever, then the project will never get finished. You've got to say to yourself, 'I'm gonna do this all the way!' Don't just say it- feel it. Believe it.

Remember what you said...
SSj Kaboom wrote:So long as I'm around, I'll keep making projects and crazy yet relevant threads to keep things interesting. Boring DaizEX? On my watch? Psshaw. Nevah.
Don't give up on us now, you're the only guy for the job!

Anyway, now that that's sorted (I hope)...

Okay, so I've got an idea. We should make newsletters (every 5 days or so) for everyone who's involved in the project, to keep them interested and motivated. To give it a special value, we should PM it to them (as opposed to just sticking it in this thread). I could make a template, but... I'm not too sure what to write.

So, is this project over?

As a matter of fact, it isn't.

Whoah, you had me scared there for a second. I mean c'mon, there are still plenty of us here waiting to do our parts!! No matter what the difficulty, just ask around, there has to be someone who can help you out Kaboom!

So what's this you say about the poster? Is there any way I can help out with that further? Because I was under the impression that someone else was handling the text and layout.

Oioioi. Apologies for disappearing from the forum for a while... I missed out on a bit, didn't I? D:

Okay, c'mon, Kaboom. I agree with Steven Perry; don't back out on this yet, please! Yeah, things have been going slow, but don't let that deter you. It seemed like this was going to take quite a while to complete from the beginning, so it's not a complete shock to me that you're getting discouraged about it... but then again, nothing good comes about if we don't give it the time needed to, you know? (The whole "Rome wasn't built in a day" thing... 8D; )

If you need help keeping the project moving, I'm always here. I have a good bit of free time on my hands for the moment before summer classes start, so I can help with co-directing, script-fusing, figuring out how to get the FTP up and running, etc. (Hell, if the poster still needs to be finished, I'll do that, too!) And I'm still willing to help with the voice-directing, like I said I would be from early on. So you know you've got several people who want to help keep this project afloat.

I know I don't want to see this project dropped into limbo. I'd rather see it through, even if it does take a long time to finish. So don't give up yet, okay?! We all just need to put some more muscle power into this thing! 8D;

I'll be contacting you shortly to figure out what needs to be done first, so sit tight and we'll try to get things in order again. Do not worry. :)

Orrrrrrr we could send it to them via email, and just PM the ones we can't contact that way. Saves time and button clicking (and probably does a better job of getting to people who don't get on Daizex often). :D I've got a pretty big (if incomplete, but there's still a lot of names on there) list of people I put together months ago for something like this. Maybe we can figure out how to set it up on I'm or something? o.o

And, yeah, if anyone has any ideas for putting this newsletter together, it'd be of great help. :D
Art, etc. links taken down for now. Will be updated at some point. I dunno.

It's comments like this that make me pop back up in anticipation for doing this project. Kino, I think everyone'll agree when I say you're possibly our strongest backbone. ^^

In addition to my voicing, I'd love to be put in charge of the sound effects track. I just received a considerable amount from our own Azure, in addition to many others I've already had downloaded and a large pack I just found. You guys can rest assured, 99% are all genuine DBZ sound effects. :D

Movie 3 (the Dragon Box version mind you) and the dub...
Kanzentai wrote:Source Audio…remixed?
They are obviously using the source material for this release, however, there is something else going on here. On the bottom of the box it lists the audio as "Principal voices: monaural (one part surround)". The "one part surround" is referring to the 10th Anniversary Special, but what's intriguing here is that for everything else only the voices are listed as being in mono. Are the music and sound effects presented in stereo here? I'd say most definitely yes! Hell, if it wasn't for the listing on the box, I'd swear the voices were in stereo too! To be quite honest, the audio on these features is absolutely stunning. All the music, voices and sound effects have the correct amount of balance and distribution among the audio channels, and all come off crystal clear. This is, without a doubt, the best the original DragonBall material will ever sound! Simply amazing!

Okay folks. I'm back.

First off, thanks for bringing the project back from the brink. I honestly thought it had all but died. Amazing what one bad weekend and a birthday can do to your perspective on things.

I'll post more tomorrow morning or later tonight, but I'd like to start re-delegating some things.
  • Our frontmost priority has been and is getting an FTP server set up. There's various programs out there used for creating and maintaining them, but I haven't a clue how to use them. We need to figure it out, and get one set up somewhere, somehow. Which also means we need for someone to volunteer a couple GBs of hard drive space.
  • Secondly is the script. Kino, you up for finishing (i.e. starting) combining mine and Shinpan's?
  • Speaking of which, she did finish her chunk of the poster, but nathantheguitarist, who was supposed to do the lettering, has gone AWOL. I'm gonna PM/E-mail him about it later, otherwise I can finish the poster with my l33t Ph070sh0pp1ng $k1llz.
More later. Gotta eat and go out.

Most definitely. Just email me Shinpan's script (and yours if you changed it any since you first put it up) and I'll get right on it. :D And while I'm not as knowledgeable as I'd like to be on setting up the FTP server, I know of several people I can ask who most likely are, so I'll see what I can get from them.

Also, I've got almost a whole hard drive on me that's going unused (about 70 gigs). I don't know just how much space all the video and/or audio materials for this project will end up taking--all I know is that some of this stuff sounds like it's gonna be hella big--but I'm willing to house as much of it as I can on my computer. Does it sound like that'll be enough? o.o

Regarding the lettering for the poster, I can probably do it (or help with it), but if you or Shinpan know you can do a better job, then I suppose it's best to leave that part up to you guys. You saw what I did with the logo for the trailer, so you can probably judge from that what should be done... >_> Either way, though, if there's something I can do to help with it at all (cleaning up any rough spots in the image? I dunno), let me know and I'll do it. ^^;

On another note, from the sound of it, your birthday didn't go by so well. If that's the case, sorry it didn't turn out better... D:

... Well? :?

When's it going to be done?!

We need to set some strict deadlines here.
SSj Kaboom wrote:Yes, and thank you for being a good sport.

In terms of an FTP server, Kino linked me to Serv-U, here, a free and seemingly good FTP management program that I've been fiddling around with.
Should I download 'Serv-U' too? Will we all be using that?

I did a search on Wikipedia, and was directed here: http://www.ftpplanet.com/ftpresources/basics.htm

It gives step-by-step tutorials for their FTP program (claimed to be 'the best in the world'). It's only functional for 30 day, but then again, if we all download it at the same time, that would give us all a deadline. Or, isn't that long enough?
