Episode #0173! VegettoEX and Meri take it easy before the big move to crank out a fun little episode talking about episodes 2 and 3 of "DragonBall Kai". There is a lot of neat stuff going on, but where did our pools of blood go...? The rest of April's releases, some great e-mails, and a look at where we're heading rounds out the episode. Go ahead and grab it. Big thanks to
godofchaos for hosting the silly *one-hundred-seventy-three* episodes, now.
See you all in two weeks! ^_~

Wow Mike, you sound like crap in this episode. Feeling okay?
Honestly, I didn't noitce how Vegeta's colors were 'bright'. I suppose I just took the scene as it was...

According to his Twitter page, he's been working like crazy this week, so it wouldn't surprise me if he sounds a bit out of it.

There won't be a show next week 'cuz we're moving (as explained in-episode), so hopefully he'll be back with us for 174 for the new manga review.

I was always under the impression that Piccolo did a sort of "air strike" at Raditz, kinda like Goku did to Chi Chi during the previous Budoukai.
Totally agree with Vegeta's correct colors looking way too bright. You could really tell that it was a re-coloring.
... and geez, what is it with a majority of the daizEX'rs living in Jersey?

Yes. Meri should totally make that her new catchphrase.
Also, the little "teamup" the two of you do for the signoff line is just awesome.
As for the break, I know I'm going to seriously miss having the show to get me through my boring as hell math class next Monday, but I'd say you guys totally deserve a week or two off.
Great episode as always.

I honestly don't know, but as one of them I find it ironic and amusing considering the podcast is recorded there. XD
Actually I think NJ has the highest concentration of people per square mile in the U.S....or something like that.
EDIT: Oh, here we go!
The New Jersey Field Office's website wrote: New Jersey, with 1,151 people per square mile, is the the nation's most densely populated State.
On hiatus.

That's what it seems like. If you look closely in the manga, Raditz's body is shaking from some impact even though Piccolo's hand is of course nowhere near him. It's just not a very clearly done shot.

Like people have said about the 'air strike', the way it happens in Kai is exactly as it happens in the manga. Panel shows Piccolo going to attack, then next panel it's over and Raditz is lying there with the ground around him cracked. It's pretty weird even in the manga, and people have often asked what he actually did. I'd guess a kiai attack.

Like I've mentioned in other threads, I always believed that Raditz just naturally died of his injuries before Piccolo could finish the job himself.

I disagree. The little dust clouds and cracked ground around Raditz suggest that something happened. Piccolo's comment in the old Viz copy of the manga I have is, "Still laughing? Indeed...I thought not..." which seems to imply that he finished him off, to me.

So, next week there's no episode... the next episode it's the manga review...
Poor Yamcha...... he might never get his episode any time sooner

I remember a rumor that Piccolo had cut out Raditz's tongue to shut him up but I could be wrong...

Thanks you two, I was up late Sunday night with absolutely nothing to do, so I was happy to see you went ahead and uploaded it during the late hours so I could give it a listen while trying to get tired.
I enjoyed the Kai review, you guys mentioned the pools of blood. I have a quick question for anyone. I know that in the "Ultimate Uncut" version, the blood dripping from Piccolo's arm stump is red, in Kai ep. 3, it was purple. Was it like that in the original airing/Dragon Box version?

Nope. They fixed Picc's blood color to be consistent with later episodes.

Ugh. I always hate moving. It wipes me out. So take some time off away from the podcast--you'll need it!
