Original DragonBall GT Sponsor Spots
Original DragonBall GT Sponsor Spots
Like DragonBall Kai, DBGT received specific funding from major corporations, and thus there was a short spot at the beginning and end of each episode that mentioned the sponsors and included a short 'thank you' or something (you're probably much more familiar with the Kai equivalent).
Since these short little sponsor spots have never been released, they are extremely rare and as far as I know, would only be available through recordings of GT episodes' original airings. So, my question is: does anyone either have some original recordings of GT episodes, or a copy of one of these sponsor spots (and be willing to upload a copy), or know anything about them? I'd really love to see one (I have no clue if there were even more than one). Thanks!

Wait, are "Glico spots" just promos for the funders? Is this from a foreign dub?SweetCosmicPope wrote:Don't recall if my old GT subs have those spots or not, but I want to think my Z sets had Glico spots (with the short head chala riff playing in the background).
@Tanooki Kuribo: That would be awesome. No hurry.

From some of my fansubs.
It's been a while since I've seen them, but I don't know why I would have this in my head. The promos weren't subbed, though, so I can only speculate on what they were saying.
It was just the Glico logo (don't recall the back ground), and the instrumental violin riff from Head Chala, while the announcer says what I assume to be "this show is brought to you by Glico."

Yes, on present DVD, that's right, but I'm asking about the originally aired version. As I mentioned this before, all GT episodes were made in stereo. This is true and they are still airing GT in stereo on Animax chennel. In addition, I checked the TV schedule of newspaper of the day GT started, in which I found mark (Stereo Broadcasting).Hujio wrote:The GT episodes were presented in 2.0ch monaural and the GT TV special was presented in Dolby Digital stereo.

So why aren't they releasing the DVDs in stereo? Why would they down-mix it to mono if they had a stereo track? Now I'm just confused.kei17 wrote:Yes, on present DVD, that's right, but I'm asking about the originally aired version. That's the very point that I don't understand as well. But this is true. Toei did the same thing on Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star).Hujio wrote:So why aren't they releasing the DVDs in stereo? Why would they down-mix it to mono if they had a stereo track? Now I'm just confused.

I e-mailed Toei about this problem and they once returned "It is currently under investigation. Please wait.", but never answered.
