2nd Form Cell
2nd Form Cell
Was there ever a sketch or any sort of knowledge on what Cell's Second form would have looked like if he absorbed #18 first instead of #17?

No, but Daizex has a scan of several potential character designs for Cell from Daizenshuu 4 here. They're not labled as to which forms they were intended to be, but presumably they were all designs for his first form.

He's more just absorbing their batteries. He just needs their power to turn from Imperfect to Perfect. Since #17 and #18 are in the same league of strength, my guess is Semi-Perfect Cell would look the same, only be weaker.TheNamek wrote:I was thinking since one was a guy and one was a girl.
I do however like the full drawing on the left of that page[it looks like a Cooler/Freeza/Cell fusion sort of] and the one on the right with spiked shoulders.

I wonder why Cell chose to directly go for #17 to absorb first. Maybe he was programmed that way. So maybe it was necessary for #17 to be absorbed first, possibly because he would gain more power for #17 than if he had absorbed #18, considering the fact that #17 is the stronger of the two.

Well, 17 was closer to him than 18, and was already beat up from fighting Piccolo. So he was the easier target.
Story-wise, I imagine Toriyama was saving 18 for last so that he could use the "Kuririn's in love with 18" thread later.

I always figured he had to absorb 17 first and 18 second. His forms reflect the person they absorbed. If you look at Cell's eyes in his second form, they become the same color as 17s. He acts brash and aggressive, very masculine, like 17. When he absorbs 18 his eyes become pink and feminine, as does the rest of his features, and he acts more like 18 when talking to Vegeta. Scoffing at his arrogance, letting him get his hopes up before crushing them, etc.

Yeah, #17 was closer to Cell than #18. I don't think he was beat up though, since he mentioned that while Piccolo was weakening, his energy wasn't dropping because of the Infinite Energy Reactor or whatever. But your story-wise explanation works.Herms wrote:Well, 17 was closer to him than 18, and was already beat up from fighting Piccolo. So he was the easier target.

17 would apparently never run out of energy, so he would win on stamina, but that doesn't mean that Piccolo couldn't damage him. They both looked like they'd taken a beating by the time Cell showed up.Piccolo Daimao wrote:Yeah, #17 was closer to Cell than #18. That doesn't mean his stamina won't go down, though, just that his attacks will be consistently "omnistrong." We see #17 was exhausted fighting Piccolo. So while exhaustion means energy dropping for normal people, it doesn't mean that for androids.Bussani wrote:17 would apparently never run out of energy, so he would win on stamina, but that doesn't mean that Piccolo couldn't damage him. Why would he possibly look any different?
This is the logic some of you guys are using...
Add a tea bag, milk and hot water. What's the result - tea!
Now let's try it differently.
Add milk, hot water then the tea bag, surely it'll be different now!!!
