Did Goku lose his body after dying in Trunks' timeline?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Did Goku lose his body after dying in Trunks' timeline?

Post by Piccolo Daimao » Tue Nov 10, 2009 1:47 pm

Did Goku lose his body after dying from the heart disease in Trunks' timeline? Son Goku states in the Cell Arc that regular people and bad guys turn into spirits after their death, but he was allowed to retain his body because he died trying to protect the Earth.
In Trunks' timeline, Goku died from the heart disease. So, would he able to keep his body? He didn't die in an attempt to protect the Earth, so that should mean that he would lose possession of his body. However, he had died before protecting the planet and was allowed to keep his body, so maybe Lord Enma would've bended the rules for him?

I'm confident that he kept his body. I don't believe it is based off the last thing you did, but rather your life long achievements.

Goku spent his entire life successfully protecting people. I'd assume that he kept his body, but keep in mind, It's not like he was able to communicate with anyone.

It's not like he was with King Kai or anything, he probably just went to heaven the second time.

I think Goku may have been able to fly over to Kaiô-Sama's planet every once in a while to visit. In the Cell Games Arc & early Boo Saga (before the Tenka'ichi Budokai), it looked like he was with Kaiô-Sama and Bubbles for almost all the time we saw him, and after he had to return to the Afterlife, it looked like he had free roaming of the afterlife.

Yes that's true. But it was a different case. Goku did indirectly kill him by instant transmitting himself and cell to his planet XD.

Also keep in mind, Goku didn't go to heaven. He was training in Other World with the other fighters.

He could've left at any time if he wanted to, though.

So Goku went to Valhalla... basically "Heaven" for a guy like him!

Isn't the place where he was training in the Boo arc with Kaio supposed to be Heaven?

I don't know, there is heaven like space including Kai's planets and heaven as the planet where dead people are (but that's only in filler and GT)....

Goku trained in Heaven(dimension) on Dai Kaio's planet
FighterZ, Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat: Funky_Strudel
PS5: Dynamixx88
Trust me, I'm millenial and a designer.

The planet Goku trained on before the Buu saga tournament was Heaven. 'Other World' is another name for the whole afterlife.

The planet where those who have been judged by Enma Daio to be good people reside. Goku trained here heading into the 25th Tenkaichi Budoukai.
Edit: The planet in the Afterlife Tournament filler was the Dai Kaio's planet, though, which Goku and Kaio reached by taking a plane that flied past Heaven.

Kanzenshuu: Is that place still around?
Sometimes, I tweet things
We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

Oh okay, I'm going by the filler. I've never actually read the manga ^_^;;
