Kai Episode 33 (22 November 2009)
General Discussion for DragonBall Kai episode 33, aired 22 November 2009.
フルパワーだ孫悟空!おののくギニュー秘策あり!?
Furu Pawaa da Son Gokuu! Ononoku Ginyuu Hisaku Ari!?
Son Goku at Full Power! The Terrified Ginyu Has Something Up His Sleeve?!
-----------------------------------
I'll note there was a new eyecatch, but other than that, I don't know too much yet since I haven't watched it.
Part A: Ginyu and Goku
Part B: Freeza, Saichourou, and Nail
-----------------------------------
Next Episode:
ビックリ!悟空がギニューでギニューが悟空!?
Bikkuri! Gokuu ga Ginyuu de Ginyuu ga Gokuu!?
Surprise! Goku is Ginyu and Ginyu is Goku?!
This was actually the exact same title as DBZ episode 071, except for the "!?" at the end.

Originally, it was just flickering colors. I went back to watch them and they looking Seizurific! It's understandable why Toei changed them.Son Wukong wrote:I can totally not remember the rainbow effects during the body switching. Was it there in Dragonball Z ?

I'm sure they kept the filler because in the anime, unlike in the manga, Kuririn and Gohan catch up to Bulma (a canon scene for them to get the Dragon Radar) by killing her dinosaur pursuer; and Bulma realizing she missed her chances with Goku is canon.Super 17 wrote:What the hell is up with the Bulma and the dinasours filler and how Bulma thinks Goku is cute and how she missed her chance to date him or something. BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.
Yeah, this was the first full episode I've watched in a good while but it was pretty obvious they kept the dinosaur filler because there was no way to animate around it. Just some things like that can't be properly reconciled to the Manga without re-animating the entire scene.kenisu3000 wrote:I'm sure they kept the filler because in the anime, unlike in the manga, Kuririn and Gohan catch up to Bulma (a canon scene for them to get the Dragon Radar) by killing her dinosaur pursuer; and Bulma realizing she missed her chances with Goku is canon.Super 17 wrote:What the hell is up with the Bulma and the dinasours filler and how Bulma thinks Goku is cute and how she missed her chance to date him or something. I thought that too. When I first saw it, it stuck out like a (beautifully animated) sore thumb.
My initial impression was that the episode it was from had been directed by a guest animation director, it's common in modern anime to have someone of prolific talent come in for one episode or so, to do a specific fight, and their style usually sticks out above others. (I'm not very in touch with these eps after only seeing them when I was 9 on TV)
But looking over it again, it does just look especially well done on the remastering.
Who knows? Maybe TOEI are changing their methods of redrawing scenes?

I love humans, always seeing patterns in things that aren't there.

I loved that part.

I don't think I've ever seen this part of the series in Z. This was right around where I started to watch regularly back in the original run on Toonami, though.
Maybe they haven't gotten around to it yet. I don't know, just a guess....alakazam^ wrote:Is it just me or does the animation in the preview looks different? It starts when Jeese is fleeing from and fighting Vegeta. What I mean is that it looks REALLY clear, but it doesn't seem to be re-animated.
It's telling you what the episode of One Piece that's coming up next is going to be about.Deity wrote:What was that sentence that appeared on top of the screen at 9:19 or at around minute 14 ? When Freeza was fighting Nail.
