So who is this Princess Snake?

Hello all! I'm recently re-watching the whole series via my recently acquired Dragon Box and I just started the Saiyan Arc's filler saga. I've just watched the the Princess Snake episode a few minutes ago and I'd like to share my opinions on her.

I'm sure this has been brought up before but... c'mon! Look at her! Doesn't she look like she's part of the Race of Hera? Like Bojack and co.? What about Mamba from GT's TV Special? Could she be her daughter? Could they be part of this Race of Hera? What is this race? Judging by the way they put it, they seem to be a special case, every other race is referred by *something*jin or *something*seijin, but these guys are THE Race of Hera, no planet, no "jin". Princess Snake has lived for 1500 years at least and she resides on Snake Road, which is, as you all know, a place on the other realm, she also appears to be pretty alive to me. Bojack and his men (and woman) were imprisoned in some sort of plane or realm and that was maintained by the four Kaio's planets, that all seems to be pretty much outer worldly to me. Could it be that this Race of Hera comes from the other realm? As opposed to the living realm?

Thoughts? Opinions? Shoot!

I thought the humanoid form of her was an illusion, and her true form was that of a giant, flying snake. Of course, this always left me wondering if her assistants were illusions, too.

They're in it again once or twice, always in the humanoids-living-in-a-house form...but I don't usually try to make sense out of filler.

Maybe it is JUST filler and has not meaning. Toei is famous for reusing character designs. But than again, who knows? Maybe there is meaning to it. I do like your theory though. Kinda makes you wonder, eh? Also, there's no doubt that Mamba from GT's TV Special has to be related to Princess Snake in some shape or form.

I thought Toryama designed Princess Snake? I know he designed Bojack and all his men (and woman), so you can't really blame that one on Toei.

I don't think so. Anyway, she describes herself as "Jadoushin", the god of the Serpent Road, so apparently she's some sort of god. And her big snake form is referred to as her true form.

I know its filler and I'm probably reading too much into it, but I think Princess Snake and her assistants are part of a seperate, snake like race who are either native to Snake Road or come from somewhere else to it.

Yes, but that doesn't mean he designed all the filler characters. The first DBZ Anime Special says that among the filler ideas he gave the anime staff was the general idea that there would be a big snake living on the Serpent Road. As far as I remember this is all that Toriyama contributed to the Serpent Princess episode, though I could be wrong.

The race Bojack and co. belong to, according to background info. It's referred to in passing in Daizenshuu 7's section on races. Other than the name, I don't think there's any details given anywhere about the race.

o.O This is news to me. I did a cursory check of info on DaizEX's main site and didn't see anything, so I was reasonably nonplussed.
