Dragonball Z collecting

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Dragonball Z collecting

Post by extrafuzzyllama » Fri Apr 30, 2010 5:59 pm

Hi all. I am new here and a big DBZ fan.
I don't know as much as everyone else here, but I know some stuff.
Well, my main reason for this thread was to ask some questions about DBZ cards and rare books.

I was able to buy 9 of the daizenshu books in excellent condition am looking for the 7th book.
I wanted to know what other rare or semi rare art books there are.

And my final question is about the DBZ cards from the Carddass books.
Where can I find those cards to buy and how would I search for them?
When I was younger I had a few, but don't remember how I got them.
The main cards I am talking about are the ones that have about 9 faces of DBZ characters on the backs of each card.

Thx in advance everyone.

I'd suggest reading through the "Databook Guide" on Kanzentai, which will give you a pretty good idea of most of the books that are out there. However, so far there have really only been two DragonBall art books; Daizenshuu 1 and Ogoun no Senshi. Toriyama has released some art books himself, but they're not exclusively DragonBall related. As far as cards go, I'm not much help there. So someone else will have jump in with that info. But if you have any other rare book or guide book questions, feel free to ask and I should hopefully have the answer.

Yeah, other than the books in Kanzentai's "Databook Guide" and the manga releases there's not much in terms of reading material. There are dozens and dozens of video game guidebooks, which are really rare, though they aren't all to appealing in terms of anything other than collectability and the posters in most of them. Also, the giant movie programs that were given out at the premieres of each movie are really cool items to collect and super fun to flip through.
