For most of my gaming life I was under the impression that most(if not all) Anime games got the short end of the stick. But after watching this:

I realized that this mentality was only for Dragonball. Eight years running(8+ outside of America) and we never got treatment this good. The graphics look like you are playing the anime and if their willing to throw in their own characters from Tekken that means they are really putting some effort into this game. So why does a 3rd rate anime get the A team, while a 20 year old classic get the C team?

Sometimes I wish the franchise would fall into Capcom's hands so we can get something like this:

I have to admit, the people who developed that (and according to the description it was a company called CyberConnect2) really worked hard on it. I would not mind having them create a DB game at all.

The Tekken character is only playable because the author of Naruto designed him, I think.
And those graphics are great, but I'd say Burst Limit's were on the same level. I don't know about gameplay as I've never played a Naruto game.
Maybe we'll get a game that looks as good as the opening to DBO one day.

3rd rate Anime? Naruto is arguably the most popular Anime out right now. It is certainly more popular than Dragon Ball though.

Actually, One Piece is way more popular than Naruto.

That trailer actually didn't look super impressive to me, maybe it's because I don't care about Naruto but it seemed pretty "eh" for a current gen game.

Also yes depending on the anime that video game treatment varies. However They went through a lot games in the series to get to this point like 8-10 maybe more games before it finally got this good in this series.Plus seeing a as I have an account I'll be getting it for free.

As for the Tekken character his name is Lars. The creator of Naruto designed a alternate costume for him in Tekken 6 which will be his clothing as well for the game.

It’s definitely not just with DragonBall. Anime games, and licensed games in general, tend to be not so great.

If you meant "most popular in the US", then you should have specified that from the start.

The hell it isn't. Where are you getting that from? Naruto isn't even getting half the viewers Dragonball Kai is, and Kai is essentially a rerun show on top of that.

And yeah, licensed games are generally pretty terrible. There's the odd exception, but it's definitely not anything unique to Dragonball.
