Dragon Ball Wiki

Post by TimeCrash4 » Sat Jun 19, 2010 9:29 am

I only discovered this recently, about a couple of days ago and after reading several of the articles, I have a question:

Why on earth does it use dub titles and incorrect information?

I understand that anyone can edit it but earlier today when I tried to change several things I had it altered (I wasn't trying to vandalize pages) back to what it was before. Does anyone know why this is? And is there any other place to go for proper information based on the series, like another wiki?

We already know about it here, and it seems like the people running it go out of their way to put up inaccurate information.

You can see this discussed in this thread where there is talk about a DaizenshuuEX wiki: http://daizex.fanboyreview.net/viewtopi ... =1&t=10525

Good question. I guess they'd say that the dub titles thing is just their preference. As for why they keep re-adding the incorrect information...they just seem to be completely oblivious to the fact that it's incorrect. From what I saw, they seemed to think that our only reason for wanting to make our own wiki was that theirs used dub terminology, which is clearly the least of its problems.

The DB wiki is pure crap, and I do support the idea of another DB wiki (If Digimon can have two wiki's, and I don't see why not DB can?).

It seems quite lengthy so for those who have read all of it: is it still happening?

The DB wiki is full of fan boy edits too. I remember one time the page for Broly said he destroy the south galaxt in one attack when is their is nothing that back it up (Seeing you can see stars in the background, and the main planet of the movie take places in the south galaxy).

It's still happening, but it'll take awhile. There's still lots of stuff to iron out.

The only use I've ever found for the DB wiki is a list of dub voice actor. Other then that it's pretty worthless and inaccurate.

Ha! Same here. Though even that's not 100% accurate. Dragon Ball Wikia needs to die.

I propose it would be better to reform the existing Dragonball wiki rather than start a seperate competing one, as two such wiki's could become confusing. Not to mention I think the current one has a half decent layout and appearance, just lousy editing and English dub bias (though that is slowly being rectified it seems). If only some of us here could work with the staff of that particular wiki and volunteer to edit and moderate it regularly.

We've already tried to fix the Dragon Ball Wikia, but it's not worth the effort. We can't have a good Dragon Ball Wiki unless the ones in control aren't naive dubbies that believe in every rumor known to DB fandom.

Notice that TimeCrash4 tried to make it better, only for them to change it back again. The people over at DB wiki don't want our help.

I say you just change the entire wiki into just two links.
