The Super Exciting Guide: Story Volume says that it's over 8,000 meters high.
Kanzenshuu: Is that place still around?

8,000 meters = 26,246.72 feetLeprikanGT wrote:How tall is 8000 meters in feet? like 24000ish?

Which is about five miles up, the "death zone" that no human being can ever acclimate to because there's just not enough oxygen in the air to support our bodies.Eddie wrote:8,000 meters = 26,246.72 feetLeprikanGT wrote:How tall is 8000 meters in feet? like 24000ish?

Does the guide also state how much further it is to Kami's realm?

- Vegeta, what does the scouter say about the height of this tower?
- IT'S OVER 9000!
Yes, 9000. Goku must have had a hard time.

Which begs the question how Bulma and co. were able to breath fine even higher than that.Which is about five miles up, the "death zone" that no human being can ever acclimate to because there's just not enough oxygen in the air to support our bodies.

I seem to recall Karin stating that the air was thinner up there, and that Gokuu had trouble breathing the first time, but yeah. Some easy excuses are "it's not our Earth" or "divine magic."Kingdom Heartless wrote:Which begs the question how Bulma and co. were able to breath fine even higher than that.Which is about five miles up, the "death zone" that no human being can ever acclimate to because there's just not enough oxygen in the air to support our bodies.

Re: Is the height of Karin Tower ever given?
My vote goes to "divine magic" for this one. On at least one occasion (in the Viz translation at least) Kami's palace is called Heaven. Heaven doesn't have to follow the rules of Earth.TripleRach wrote:I seem to recall Karin stating that the air was thinner up there, and that Gokuu had trouble breathing the first time, but yeah. Or are you speaking about our world, and not a fictional one?

But the lack of air was what made Goku's training there so worthwhile, wasn't it? He had to learn to not waste movements, since up there, there wasn't enough air for it.My vote goes to "divine magic" for this one. Re: Is the height of Karin Tower ever given?
Yes and no. The point being made is that, on our Earth, there's nowhere near enough Earth to survive, let alone train harder. In other words, here, it would be completely anaerobic, followed by death, whereas there it was just intensively aerobic to the point where it was as close to anaerobic as one could get without dying. He then went even higher than that air thinness.Kingdom Heartless wrote:But the lack of air was what made Goku's training there so worthwhile, wasn't it? This is why I say the "not our Earth" factors in. The moon is as or less strenuous than Korin and Kami's to survive under, as well as has very little rock before reaching cream cheese. Our moon? Little bit different.
