Raditz...
Is there anything pointing one way or another that hints Radtiz may have a different mother than Goku? That could possibly explain why Raditz considers himself a higher class Saiyan. His mother could've been higher class and he would've been raised by her considering Bardock had little to no relationship with him (as far as we know). Anything on this?
Re: Raditz...
Nothing in manga.
Re: Raditz...
Well, look at it this way. Goku got specialized training from no less than four martial arts masters, and he just barely cracks 400. He's the trash that the trash Saiyans look down on.
Re: Raditz...
Going by what's stated in the daizenshuu, Raditz has a Battle Power that represents the average Lowest Level warrior (not just "Low Level," but what's beneath that). Goku had a BP of about 1/3 that crappy figure, which is probably why Radditz said what he did. Here's a (probable) breakdown of the social classes:
Elite Saiyan:
A) Elite Warrior:
1) Above Average = "Super Elite" = Vegeta
2) Average = Possibly Nappa
3) Below Average = Possibly Nappa
Lower Class Saiyan:
B) Low Class Warrior:
1) Above Average = Bardock
2) Average = Toma
3) Below Average = Possibly certain members of Bardock's team (Pan Buukin, maybe?)
C) Lowest Class Warrior:
1) Above Average = Never Encountered Any
2) Average = Radditz
3) Below Average = Goku
Basically it's stated that your BP at birth decides what class (A, B, C) you're in, while I would think that the average BP of each class sets a benchmark for each sub-division. So when Radditz makes his comment, it's because Goku hasn't reached that benchmark yet. He's basically referring to strength levels.
EDIT: In short, what Rocketman said.

Re: Raditz...
When does Raditz even refer to himself as a higher class? He does refer to himself as a "first-rate warrior" at one point, but that's got nothing to do with social class, he's just saying he's really great in a general way.

Maybe that's what I was thinking of. Or maybe I was thinking of a dub line.Herms wrote:When does Raditz even refer to himself as a higher class? Re: Raditz...
In 3 dubbings he didn't say anything like that. Vegeta considered him as "weak".
BTW, didn't Raditz mentioned "their parents" when he was talking about genocide of Sayians?

Re: Raditz...
Yeah, he mentions "our father and mother" dying in the destruction of Planet Vegeta.

Yeah, and I'm fairly sure he actually mentions, "Our mother and father" in the Japanese text.

A time machine... that explains everything. Couldn't you use it for something a little more productive, like saving our planet from some evil cyborgs? Selfish bastard.Herms wrote:Hey, I bought that time machine, and I'm gonna use it.Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:Dammit Herms, quit doing that!

Re: Raditz...
Well, doesn't that just mean there's a timeline where Herms isn't able to get there in time to show how much more knowledgeable he is than everyone else? Maybe you should go to that timeline, Chibi Mystic Gohan.
Do you follow the most comprehensive and entertaining Dragon Ball analysis series on YouTube? If you do, you're smart and awesome and fairly attractive. If not, see what all the fuss is about without even having to leave Kanzenshuu:

Re: Raditz...
Haha questions like this makes me even more curious to see or find out who the fuck their mum even was.
Not showing female background characters (yet alone parents) is kinda normal....but I still hold some curiosity about her, especially her relationship with Bardock. Did they ever go around killing people together or would they just randomly meet up years apart just to have more damn kids? of course we do not see her on Bardock's own fighting unit in the movie, but then again she just had a baby (and eh I dunno I just don't personally think they'd fight together in the same pack anyways). WHICH, also makes me wonder how pregnancy effects Saiyans. As in, if the time span is the same as humans or shorter. I mean if I were a chick, yet alone a Saiyan one, I would not want to be cooped up pregnant when I could be going off to kill people and destroy planets.

My name is Zep, as in Hindle. If you call me Keamy instead, it's Kay-mee, not Kee-mee, there is a difference. And dammit Serp, my name is not spelled "Kreamy".

Re: Raditz...
Okay, good, I was worried that it was going to turn out that somehow Raditsu's "I'm so awesome" claims were justified in some way. That's, like, the most awesome part of his character -- that he's so cocky with nothing to back it up, and turns out to be of so little consequence. (Though of course one might expect him to act that way toward Goku, knowing how weak he is...er...was.)
Keamy, I like to think Saiyajin fetuses/babies are just extremely durable, so the mother can go on fighting late into the pregnancy, or something. Haha, I guess that would be one very direct way for natural selection to take hold. ("What? You got kicked in the uterus and lost your child? Have stronger babies!")
Maybe the Saiyajin womb...is like one of those healing tanks we see Freeza's people use.
(Sorry for the topic diversion.)

Oh, you think the Grand Tour is your ally, you merely stepped into the Grand Tour. I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn’t see the Super until I was already a man; by then, it was nothing to me but blinding!
