Bizarre hypothetical fusions?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Bizarre hypothetical fusions?

Post by Darkbloom » Wed Sep 15, 2010 2:41 am

I'm new around here, so please excuse my ignorance. While searching for DragonBall on the Japanese Google Images the other day, I came across these images of bizarre fusions from here, including ones of ChiChi/Chaotzu(or Mr. Popo. I can't work out who.), Kamesennin/Cell, and Bulma/ChiChi(who inexplicably seems to be using a ladel as a weapon.). At first I thought that they were fan art, but as I looked at them more closely, I noticed that they just seemed too official-looking to be fan art.

More here: http://toloverulove.blog121.fc2.com/blog-entry-831.html

So do any of you know what this is? Are they just fan art or are they something else?

Bulma/ChiChi one looks AMAZING! And sorry, no idea where that came from.

That's Popo, yes.

The fusions given here are
Cell-sennin (Cell + Kame-sennin)
Pochi (Mister Popo + Chichi)
Gokgory (Goku + Gregory)
Bulchi (Bulma + Chichi)
Gosennin (Goku + Kame-sennin)
Picorrot (Piccolo + Kakarrot)
Tenbulhan (Tenshinhan + Bulma)
Gohanks (Gohan + Trunks)

It looks like this was a sort of contest for people to submit what-if fusions. It ran in Weekly Jump #19 of 1995, which also carried Chapter 514 of Dragon Ball (where they begin to create the final Genkidama).

Near each drawing is a name (blurred out in most of the scans), age, and prefecture. These eight drawings were picked out of 12,792 total submissions. The "Gohanks" picture was apparently drawn by a then 15-year-old Kentarou Yabuki, who is known nowadays as the artist for Black Cat and To-Love-Ru.

That Tenshin Bulma fusion is just disturbing, it looks like "it" is part man part woman unlike Elder Kaioshin who seems to be keeping his manly side if he ever had one to begin with xD.
Edit: And that Bulma/Chi chi one is awesome! I can't believe Salagir didn't do this in his fanmanga :(

Most of these are awesome, while some...are bizarre. I REALLY wish there was a larger scan of this with a bit better clarity for some of the smaller ones.

The Bulma/Chi-Chi fusion wins for being the most awesome hypothetical fusion on that sheet.

No, Chi-Chi/Popo wins.
That's your opinion, but the Bulma/Chi-Chi fusion just looks so badass and sexy. :D

WOW Bulma and Chi-Chi fusion! Her fusion outfit looks so cool! So that's the female fusion "uniform". Very cool.
So she'd be "Buruchi" or "Bulchi"? Interesting.

I've seen that Chi-Chi and Mr. Popo fusion in a doujinshi before; Goku was horrified in it.

Trunks and Gohan fusion looks neat.
On hiatus.

It says there were a lot of fusions involving Popo, but this was the clear winner.

Bulchi wins for badass and sexiness.

Pochi wins for lulz.

Does it say that Cell-Sennin's tail appears to only absorb women?

If so, that's awesome and terrifying.

Yep.

Incidentally, here's one of the signed Toriyama pictures the winners got as a prize. It used to belong to the person who thought up Cell-sennin.
Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:These must be the entries to the "Piririn" contest. Cool stuff!
Yeah, the contest was announced in Jump issue #13 for 1995, which had Toriyama's picture of Piririn and someone else's picture of a Goku and Satan fusion as examples.

That makes a lot of sense, actually, considering the fact that Yabuki was born in February of 1980, making him 15 when these contest results were printed. Pretty cool.
